Ever since the CDWC began hosting events, I've had the idea of a Wiki Call of Duty tournament, but there hasn't been a suitable time frame to host it. After the CoD4 event, there is no definitive move; do we start the cycle over, or do we branch into another series? I present an alternative: in late July/early August (or earlier) (school holidays for most people) we host a MW3 tournament.

Organisation

Depending on the number of users interested, we have two options.

A straightforward FFA tournament. This is the easiest to run, and would be best with small numbers. Similar to the FIFA World Cup or NFL, we could have groups of 4-6 players, followed by a knockout stage.
A team tournament. This is my preferred idea, and the one I planned for. It would involve 2-4 groups of 4-6 4-man teams (if that makes sense) which would then follow the same structure as above.

We'd also need a prize for the winner

Game rules

Subject to change per discussion. These are mainly for balance.

Standard TDM/FFA time/kill limit (core).
Default Maps
No Stealth Bomber in Support
No FMG9s

I can organise the PS3 but I need people for 360/PC/Wii.

FFA would be better then TDM, since it'd be your skill against everyone else's. If we did TDM, good players might get stuck in a team full of bad ones. Also, no restrictions on weapons/kill streaks. Conqueror of all Zombies 18:51, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
