Games of Summer was a limited-time event for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that was shipped as part of the Season Five Reloaded update. The event lasted between August 28th and September 7th, 2020. In Games of Summer, players could play through five skill related Trial minigames in which they could secure Bronze, Silver and Gold medals for each, depending on the quality of their high-score or time record. If a gold or silver medal was awarded, the other, less valuable medals would also be awarded automatically.

Each medal came with a particular reward, ranging between emblems, calling cards, stickers, charms, XP tokens, vehicle skins and even weapon blueprints. Securing 5 gold medals would reward the player with a Legendary Grau 5.56 blueprint, Steeplechase.

Unlike the Trials game mode where players spend Trial tickets in order to play, the Trials in Games of Summer allows unlimited entries. Also, individual medals earned shall add points to a player's country based on their account origin. The top 15 countries are displayed at a leaderboard.

Post-event[]

These Trial minigames were available to players once again as part of the Black Ops Cold War Season 1 content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. However, they are no longer tied to Games of Summer, and require the player to spend Trial tickets to play them.

In an Activision Games Blog, it was said that the final results of the event would be revealed and it was being evaluated by the "judges". However, no results were released whatsoever.
