The Gestapo (abbreviation of Geheime Staatspolizei), or the Secret State Police, was the official secret police of Nazi Germany and German-occupied Europe. The force was administrated by the SS (German: Schutzstaffel). The Gestapo makes its first appearance in Call of Duty: WWII.

Gameplay[]

Within the mission "Liberation," the player plays as Rousseau, and several Gestapo officers can be seen inside the headquarters. Particular Gestapo officers can be interacted when the player gives them the ID papers. If she does not leave after showing the papers (except for the back stairwell Gestapo) or if she fails to show her papers in time (with the exception of one Gestapo by the headquarters entrance and the other bag checking Gestapo), she will be arrested and the player will see a game-over screen. Several The following Gestapo officers can be encountered when walking through the headquarters.

Gestapo officers encountered[]

Located at the headquarters entrance, a Gestapo officer will ask Rousseau what is the purpose of her visit when the player gives the papers.

If the player responds "Travel documents," the Gestapo officer will declare the papers "in order" and allow Rousseau to pass. If the player does not respond in time or if she responds "Reassignment," Crowley will tell the Gestapo to "move along" and allow Rousseau to pass.

Another Gestapo officer can be found at the stairwell leading to the balcony, only appearing if Rousseau has not found Fischer yet. When approached, the Gestapo officer will ask for the papers, and when it is given to him, he will ask Rousseau to state her last name. If the player does not respond in time or if she responds "Muller" instead of "Schneider," she will be arrested and see a game-over screen.

A Gestapo officer can be found at the back stairwell, meant for "authorized personnel only." When approached, the Gestapo officer will ask for the papers, and when it is given to him, he will ask Rousseau who is she here to see. If the player does not respond in time or if Rousseau responds "Polizeiführer Wagner," she will be arrested triggering a game-over screen. If the player responds "Polizeiführer Heinrich," the Gestapo officer will allow Rousseau into the stairwell.

Another Gestapo officer can be seen at the very far right end of the second floor, standing in front of a closed double door. When approached, the Gestapo officer will ask for the papers, and when it is given to him, he will ask Rousseau what is her business with the Polizeiführer. If the player does not respond in time or if Rousseau responds "Manpower reports" instead of "Travel documents," she will be arrested triggering a game-over screen.

A Gestapo officer can be seen in front of the entrance to the balcony within the second floor, only appearing if Rousseau has not found Fischer yet. When approached, the Gestapo officer will ask for the papers, and when it is given to him, he will ask Rousseau what is in her briefcase. If the player does not respond in time or if Rousseau responds "Troop allocations" instead of "Travel documents," she will be arrested triggering a game-over screen.

Another Gestapo officer is encountered after he let Crowless pass. The officer will ask for the papers and ask Rousseau to place the briefcase for inspection. Even if the player does not respond in time or if Rousseau responds either "I'm late for a meeting" or "They already checked it," the Gestapo officer will threaten to shoot Rousseau before being taken down from behind by Crowley.
