The Giant Spider is an enemy in the Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies map Zetsubou No Shima. It must be killed in order to obtain the Sanguine Serum achievement/trophy. Its defeat is also required in order to upgrade the KT-4 into the Masamune.

Reaching and Fighting the Giant Spider[]

In order to fight the Giant Spider, the player needs to build the KT-4 Wonder Weapon. Once built, shoot the blue webbing behind the blue 115 pool near Lab A to clear a path, then head into the cave. A one way slide will deposit the player into the Giant Spider's lair. Zombies will not follow the player down here, and remain outside. Spiders can however follow.

The Giant Spider has a lot of health and can only be hurt by shooting its mouth specifically when it is foaming green ooze. It can stab at the player using its massive legs, downing a non-Juggernog user in a single hit, and two with Juggernog. It can spew webbing at the player, damaging and slowing the player's mobility, and it can summon a swarm of spiders within the small fight room. A Max Ammo will be dropped after every few Spiders are killed.

One of the most consistent ways to defeat the Giant Spider is using the Dingo, which can be guaranteed every single game by completing the middle of the three Trial of the Ancients described in the ritual area between the spawn area and Lab B, which randomizes in task every game. Players can reroll this weapon (it is always the 205 Brecci, SVG-100, or the Dingo) by waiting until the weapon disappears back into the altar until the Dingo appears, as the former two weapons are not nearly as potent against it. Even if not Pack-a-Punched, as long as the player has Double Tap, it takes roughly 3 magazines of the Dingo to kill the Giant Spider when playing solo. In co-op, the Dingo remains a respectable option for taking it down, as it can easily dispatch of the waves of small Spiders it spawns.

Upon defeat, players can approach the spider and extract one of its fangs, which is required for the upgrade process of the KT-4 into the Masamune. There is no visible pickup text for it, only dialogue from the characters will play.

Rewards[]

Once the Giant Spider has been defeated, it remains defeated for the remainder of the game. Its death will cause a portion of the cave ceiling to fall and make a bridge to the rest of the cave, where the player will find a pool of Widow's Wine, which can be drank for free to gain the perk as long as the player has an open perk slot. Acquiring Widow's Wine this way completes the Sanguine Serum trophy/achievement.
