Doctor Gideon Falkner is a character featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. He is a scientist who works for The Guild. Falkner is also the final boss of Endgame, and is fought at his hideout in Zone IV of the Avalon map. Additionally, Falkner is an Operator of The Guild faction featured in Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.

Biography

A technological visionary, Gideon Falkner was handpicked by Emma Kagan to head the Guild’s bio-engineering team — a role that exposed him to the shadowy world of the corporation’s clandestine operations.

Though publicly known as a scientific savant, Falkner has also proven a gifted field agent, though his prolonged exposure to a wide array of neurotoxins in his lab work have left him paranoid and erratic. Regardless, he remains one of Kagan’s favored tools within the Guild.

At some point, Falkner acquired samples of the Cradle, a hallucinogenic toxin made in the Cold War era, from the remains of CIA operative William "Case" Calderon, which he used as part of an effort to recreate the Cradle at the behest of Kagan.

Meeting Specter One

In June 2035, JSOC team Specter One, led by David "Section" Mason, was instructed by Chloe "Karma" Lynch to find Falkner at his penthouse in Avalon, in order to find out more about Kagan's plan. At the penthouse, Falkner greeted the team via a computer screen, taunting them before transmitting a signal to disrupt their C-Link enhancements and boosting the Cradle's effects. However, the team managed to prevail and defeat Falkner and his Guild soldiers. Following a brief interrogation from Mike Harper, Falkner fearfully told Specter One that he had orders from Kagan to figure out why the Cradle did not kill Specter One, and that he sent that knowledge to the Sanctum, and its location. Specter One left Falkner alive as they went to pursue their next goal. He was later apprehended by JSOC.

Endgame

Following Kagan's capture by Specter One, Alden Dorne took over as acting CEO of The Guild. At some point, he broke Falkner out of containment, and the latter escaped to his coastal base in Avalon, where he began unleashing a high amount of Cradle toxin, intending to infect the entirety of Avalon once more. Specter One went after Falkner and fought him, this time under heavy influence by the Cradle. Nevertheless, Falkner was killed for good, as he claimed that Dorne would succeed where Kagan failed.

• Falkner's menu animation was updated between the beta and final release. In the beta, he can be seen holding the Peacekeeper MK1; whereas in the final game, he is seen holding the Fear Trap.
