General Gordon is an American officer who served in the United States Army during World War II, as mentioned in Call of Duty 2: Big Red One.
At the end of "Crucifix Hill", Sgt. Kelly mentions that Gordon and Cpt. Delaney had a conversation prior to the Battle of Eilendorph Ridge about a possible offensive that would have the objective of taking the Siegfried Line.
