The Grappling Hook is a weapon in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Campaign
In campaign, it is available in Utopia, Sentinel, and Throttle. It seems to be readily accessible to the Sentinel Task Force, but less commonly used in the Atlas Corporation. The device seems to be a metallic box with a harpoon inside of it that is put on the forearm of an Exoskeleton. It is possible to rip enemies out of their XS1 Goliaths with the Grappling Hook.
It has the added ability to allow the user to grapple on ledges and zip towards the ledge, allowing the user to speed around the map and up ledges. The grappling hook can also be used to grapple onto Atlas operated VTOLs, allowing the player to take down the VTOL by killing the occupants inside.
Multiplayer
It can be used in the Ascendance, Supremacy and Reckoning DLC playlists, under Grapple. It appears to operate similarly to its singleplayer counterpart, being used as both a mobility tool as well as a backup weapon. The grapple has two uses before it needs to be charged (three with Overcharged).
Achievement/Trophy
Party Crasher (10 / Bronze Trophy
) - Kill 20 enemies with the Grappling Hook in "Sentinel".

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
The grappling hook returns in Infinite Warfare, exclusive to the single-player portion of the game. The grappling hook is a default equipment in zero-gravity combat sections, used for grappling onto floating debris for cover, latching onto surfaces to gain traction, or as a deadly melee weapon against SetDef soldiers.
Achievement/Trophy
Danger Close (30 / Silver Trophy
) - Kill 15 enemies with a zero-G grappling hook.
