The Gryphon is a pointstreak featured in Call of Duty: Ghosts. It is a controllable quadrotor drone that shoots explosives rounds and has a shape similar to the MQ-27 Dragonfire drone from Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

Multiplayer[]

The Gryphon fires explosive projectiles at targeted locations. While the explosives inflict area-of-effect damage, the blast radius is small and oftentimes more than one shot is required to kill targets. Enemies can see the targeting reticule and take evasive maneuvers accordingly.

The Gryphon has a limited height range: if it goes too high in the air the screen will start to fill with static. If the player flies it even further up, or leaves it too high for too long, it will expire prematurely. Players must lower the drone's height immediately when the static appears to keep it in play and to become effective with it. Its hitbox is also extremely small for bullets to hit, and without Armor Piercing using a bullet weapon is not an effective way to destroy it. The best way to destroy an enemy Gryphon is with the MAAWS Launcher as its lock-on feature makes it easier and faster to hit it.
