Gunfight is a multiplayer game mode that was introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Gunfight is also available in Call of Duty: Mobile, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.

The aim of this 2v2 game mode is to kill the enemy team in 40 seconds. If the time runs out, the Overtime Flag spawns for another 10 seconds, and both teams have an opportunity to capture it to win the round. If nobody captures the Overtime Flag, the round will end and the team with the most total health left will win the round. The first team to win 6 rounds will win the entire match.

The majority of Gunfight maps are symmetrically designed. Both teams spawn with a pre-determined class that changes every 2 rounds. Health regeneration is disabled for this game mode. All equipment aside from the Throwing Knife will not be usable until 5 seconds after the beginning of a round.

Variants[]

Gunfight: OSP[]

Gunfight: On-Site Procurement is an alternate version of the standard Gunfight mode. All players start each round with only the Fists every round and have to pick up weapons and equipment that are placed around the map.

Snowfight[]

A variation of Gunfight: OSP with all pickups being Snowballs. Available in Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare III.

In Modern Warfare, the mode takes place only on Winter Docks, with teams being two-on-two. In Modern Warfare III, the mode takes place on both Shipmas and Hangover, with six players on each team.

Gunfight 1v1[]

The same rules as standard Gunfight, but with only 1 player per team.

Gunfight 3v3[]

Another variant playlist based on standard Gunfight rules, but with 3 players on each team instead.

Gunfight Sniper-Only[]

Standard Gunfight rules, but with only snipers and marksman rifles. No secondary, lethals or tacticals.

In Call of Duty: Mobile, secondaries are only launchers and the only lethal is a Throwing Axe (while any other tactical can be generated.)

Gunfright[]

Standard Gunfight rules, but killed players drops a tag in the form of a skull that refills health. Available during the Haunting of Verdansk event in Modern Warfare.

Gunfight Melee-Only[]

Standard Gunfight rules, but with only melee weapons and a Tomahawk as the sole lethal. Available in Black Ops Cold War.

Gunfight Custom[]

Gunfight based game rules, but loadouts are chosen from Create-A-Class.

Gunfight Tournament[]

Standard Gunfight rules, but Tournament style. 16 teams of 2 all join into Gunfight maps to be declared winner. Teams will fight 4 teams in the tournament to get rewards such as Calling Cards, Emblems, Stickers, Charms and Weapon Blueprints. Available in Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War.

Armored Gunfight[]

Gunfight based game rules, but with 150 HP of Armor, 100 Health, and no replacement plates or health regeneration. Available in Modern Warfare II.

Team Gunfight[]

Standard Gunfight rules, however, taking place on core maps with 6 players on each team. Available in Modern Warfare III.
