Gustavo Rodriguez, also known as Gus, is an Operator of the SpecGru faction featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.

Biography

Gustavo Rodriguez was born and raised in Costa Rica where he spent his childhood on the beaches, teaching tourists how to surf. One of the tourists was a US Marine. Inspired by the Marine's toughness, Gustavo wanted to join the military to defend his home from the narcos. However, with no army in Costa Rica, he opted for the Fuerza Pública.

After years working a a police officer, Rodriguez was invited to join Costa Rica's Special Intervention Unit, an elite team tasked with matters of national security and reporting directly to the Minister of the Presidency. Receiving extensive training and combat experience abroad, Gustavo specialized in hostage rescue and asset protection.

By 2022, Rodriguez became a contractor for the SpecGru private military company.

• Despite being Costa Rican, Gus wears a Brazilian flag on his uniform in a Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile promo image.
• His Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Operator bio originally listed him as Mexican. This was changed to Costa Rican following the Season One update.
• The "ETH.3N" skin is based on the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare character, E3N "Ethan".
