The HDR is a bolt-action sniper rifle featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Mobile.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare[]

"Anti-material bolt action sniper rifle chambered in 12.7x108mm ammunition. 745 gr bullets have a lower muzzle velocity, but are devastating at very long ranges."
— In-game description

Overview[]

Campaign[]

In the singleplayer campaign, the weapon is referred to as Hadir's Sniper Rifle, and uses the same model as the blueprint "Hadir's Right Hand" added in multiplayer post-release. It is revealed to have been handmade by Hadir Karim, who gives his rifle to Alex in the mission Highway of Death. Hadir mentions that the rifle uses .338 Lapua ammunition (as opposed to 12.7×108mm for the multiplayer counterpart), and that it is capable of armor piercing at 600 meters. Alex also uses Hadir's Sniper Rifle as part of his starting loadout in Into the Furnace.

Call of Duty: Mobile[]

"A heavy Sniper Rifle with insane firepower but at the huge cost of mobility."
— In-game description

The HDR returns in Call of Duty: Mobile. It was added in March 2023 as part of the Season 3: Rush update.

Multiplayer[]

The HDR is one of the sniper rifles that has high firepower but lower mobility. It is not designed for point-blank quickscoping and should be used in longer maps like Crossfire, Icebreaker, Crossroads, and Satellite.

The HDR's multipliers are most comparable to the DL Q33, having the same headshot multiplier, although the rest of the HDR’s multipliers are higher than the DLQ. While the DLQ has a base damage of 90, this range is infinite unlike the HDR’s 30-meter range of 91 base damage and an infinite 89 base damage from 31 meters onward. Also unlike the DLQ, the HDR has the capability to 1-shot to the legs up to 30 meters. The HDR is also very stable, bearing a hit flinch resistance of 1.3 and a breath hold of 6 seconds.

When it comes to mobility, the HDR generally lacks severely. Base ADS time is 500 milliseconds, slowest in class. The fastest the HDR can go to is 435 milliseconds with the FTAC Stalker-Scout stock and the OWC Laser - Tactical. The HDR also has the slowest fire interval in class at 1420 milliseconds between shots. Sprint speed is 5.23 meters per second, also slowest in class. Aiming Movement speed, also slowest in class, is 1.41 meters per second, comparable to that of the Arctic .50, Rytec AMR, and ZRG 20mm. Sprint-to-Fire time is 260 seconds, tied with the Rytec. Movement speed is 4.02 m/s and sprint speed is 5.23 m/s. The HDR’s reload speed is 2.72 seconds, slowest in class, although its empty reload time is only the third slowest at 3.06 seconds, beaten by the Rytec and the ZRG.

The HDR's base magazine size is 5 rounds per mag, like the Rytec and ZRG. This is extendable to 7 and 9 rounds per mag. It also bears unique barrel attachments, including the 26.9" HDR Pro which increases the gun’s bullet speed by 70% and the 17.2" and 26.0" Bull Barrels which significantly reduce vertical recoil at the cost of the inability to use muzzle attachments and negative effects on the gun's ADS time, movement speed, and damage range, as well as the bullet speed for the 26.0" Bull Barrel. Unlike other snipers, none of the HDR's barrels decrease ADS time. Muzzle attachments are mostly standard for the HDR, with the exception of a Heavy Suppressor replacing the RTC Compensator. The Heavy Suppressor improves the weapon's hit flinch and breath hold but slows down the ADS time and idle sway of the weapon.

Overall, the HDR is a lethal but immobile pick for players in the multiplayer mode.
