"3-round burst ballistic pistol. Has a triple chamber stack for rapid three round bursts."
— In-game description.

The Hailstorm is a burst-fire revolver created by Fujiwara featured in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Multiplayer[]

The Hailstorm is unlocked at level 48.

The Hailstorm can also be unlocked prior to the normal level of unlock if the player was awarded the Thunder variant, which is available for free to all players who have launched and played Call of Duty: Black Ops III at least once. The Thunder variant was once available for purchase for 4000 Salvage, however this ability was removed in the January 13th, 2017 patch for PS4/Xbox One and the 20th January, 2017 patch on PC.

Zombies[]

The Hailstorm is available in Zombies in Spaceland as a wall weapon in the starting room for 500 points. It is available for customization at level 2. The Hailstorm is a point weapon, useful for accumulating headshots, and even dealing with small groups of zombies.

Hollow Point adds a sizable headshot bonus to the already high factor, making headshot multikills a viable strategy. Dual Wield, while a seemingly effective choice, is indeed powerful in single-digit rounds, but quickly becomes obsolete in higher rounds.

When upgraded via the Pack-a-Punch Machine, the Hailstorm becomes the Tropical Thunder, gaining increased damage, a larger magazine, and more reserve ammo. It increases the magazine size to a whopping 28 rounds, and converts the primary fire rate to a four-round burst.

Trivia[]

  • The world model for the Hailstorm Ordnance depicts a lengethened cylinder that appears to hold four sets of bullets, compared to the listed three sets in the weapon description, despite having no change in the round capacity.
  • Despite the concept art depicting the triple-chamber stack cylinder to only hold 9 shots, the Hailstorm holds 12 in-game. There also seems to be some sort of removable magazine-shaped object inside the pistol grip, but the function or purpose of this is never explained.
  • The bullets inside the Hailstorm have the Mandarin characters 注意 written on them, meaning "Warning".
    • Specifically on the Ordnance variant, the Japanese characters "藤原は、伝説の雷南" can be seen on the barrel, meaning "Fujiwara is a legendary thunderstorm."
