The teams must rush to secure a "Hardpoint" on the map and repel the area from the enemies. Holding the Hardpoint increases the teams' score, but if no players are in the Hardpoint, no points are gained. It is similar to Headquarters, but respawning is always enabled, even if the player's team is holding the Hardpoint. The Hardpoint switches to different set rotational positions on the map several times during the match. A point is granted every second a single team is present in the Hardpoint.
If players from both teams are present in the Hardpoint, it will be marked as "contested" and neither team will gain points until remaining enemies are removed from the objective. Players who arrive in a new Hardpoint or one that was previously occupied by enemies gains 200 score for "Securing the Hardpoint" and will receive a "Hardpoint Secure" medal. The first player who secures a Hardpoint shortly after it changes gets a "Forward Position" medal.

Cranked Hardpoint[]
"Control the Hardpoint to earn score for your team and become Cranked. Chain kills to earn buffs and extend your Cranked timer. Keep killing to stay alive of BOOM! You're dead, Cowboy!"
— "Die Hardpoint" Playlist description
Cranked Hardpoint is a variant of Hardpoint available in Black Ops Cold War. The mode was first released during the 80s Action Heroes event and was originally called Die Hardpoint. The mode mixed gameplay from Hardpoint and Cranked available in both 6v6 and 12v12 matches.
When a player captured a Hardpoint or killed an enemy player, the Cranked timer would start with 15 seconds. The player would then need to capture or hold another Hardpoint or kill another player to increase their timer up to 30 seconds. If a player stayed in a Hardpoint controlled by their team, the Cranked timer would stop at 30 seconds. If the timer ran out, the player would die with an explosion. Hardpoints would rotate every 30s compared to 60s in standard Hardpoint. The team reaching 200 points won the match.
Kills streak provided buffs to the player, up to five consecutive kills or a Bloodthirsty medal. The buffs were reset on death. The buffs were as follows:
1 kill = Improved Movement Speed
2 kills = Improved Weapon Handling
3 kills = Improved ADS Speed
4 kills = Improved Slide Speed
5 kills = Larger Explosion on death

When a player managed to get an Unstoppable medal, indicating a 31 kills streak, a Nuke became available for the player. When launched, the nuke would detonate killing every player on the map.
