"I am a soldier. And I am here to fight."
— Hassan Zyani

Major Hassan Zyani (Farsi: حسن زيانى) is a character in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II serving as the main antagonist. A Major in the Iran's Quds Force, Hassan launched a campaign in retaliation against the United States, following the assassination of his commander, with the assistance of the terrorist group, Al-Qatala.

Biography[]

Death of General Ghorbrani[]

Following Ghorbrani's death after a missile struck the site where the arms deal with Russia was happening in Al Mazrah. Hassan made vow for revenge against the United States. To accomplish this vow, he funded and supplied Al-Qatala, to aid them in their fight, his plan was further aided by Konni Group, who gave him three American ballistic missiles, which they stole after ambushing a convoy carrying them.

Capture Attempt[]

On October 28th, 2022, Task Force 141 and the MARSOC Marines were deployed to Al Mazrah to capture Hassan. Al-Qatala forces on site utilized the new equipment that Hassan gave them and managed to delay Task Force 141 and the MARSOC Marines, allowing Hassan to escape.

Smuggled into the United States[]

Following what happened in Al Mazrah, Hassan cut a deal with Las Almas Cartel to smuggle him into the United States. This deal was revealed to CIA Station Chief Kate Laswell, who successfully interrogated the HVT that Task Force 141 captured in Amsterdam, which prompted her to send Colonel Alejandro Vargas of the Los Vaqueros to chase after Hassan and prevent the Las Almas Cartel from smuggling him into the United States.

Despite Alejandro alongside with Rodolfo Parra, Alejandro's Second-In-Command trying their best, Hassan still managed to evade them and was brought back to Las Almas, Mexico.

Getting captured[]

After being brought back to Las Almas, the Las Almas Cartel put Hassan in a cartel safe-house near the mountains. This was picked up by Alejandro and together with Task Force 141, they raided the safe-house, but the Las Almas Cartel managed to learn of the raid beforehand and moved Hassan in time, to a compound.

In spite of this, Task Force 141 and Alejandro were still determined to capture Hassan, with air support from Shadow Company, they attacked the cartel compound and captured Hassan, this made the Las Almas Cartel sent in parts of the Mexican Army, who were bribed by them to fight Task Force 141 and Alejandro to get Hassan back, but they failed. A second chance for the Las Almas Cartel to get Hassan back was in Olmeda, where Task Force 141 alongside with the Los Vaqueros were passing through, the Las Almas Cartel ambushed them and together with the Mexican Army, they engaged in a long firefight. However, despite this, they still failed, allowing Hassan to be extracted.

Interrogation[]

Hassan was brought to a desert in Mexico, in midnight. Where he was interrogated by Commander Phillip Graves of Shadow Company. Hassan acted very rude during the interrogation process, making Shepherd wanting to put him in permanent custody or to kill him, which made Laswell said that he was too hot to hold and to kill, and that they would have to release him. To which Shepherd reluctantly agreed to.

However, the interrogation still bare somewhat of a success, as from Hassan's cellphone, Laswell managed to locate a cartel facility in Spain, which made her and Captain Price alongside with Gaz to scout it out.

Death[]

Following their conversation with Valeria after the battle at the Fuerzas Especiales Headquarters. Task Force 141 learnt about the location of the final missile and Hassan's: They're in Chicago. Task Force 141 alongside with the MARSOC Marines were then deployed in Chicago, with their primary objective is to stop the missile from launching and killing Hassan, both of which were located in the Arch Industries Tower.

Hassan then fled into an elevator after realizing that Task Force 141 got close to his location. However, Soap, a member of the Task Force still managed to reach him and took the missile controller that Hassan was holding. Hassan and his Al-Qatala Special Forces guards pursued Soap in an attempt to stop him disarming the missile, with Hassasn taunting him from afar. However, Soap managed to remain hidden long enough to disarm the missile, craft weapons, and sneak up on the guards. Just as Soap killed the final guard, Hassan himself ambushed Soap, shooting him repeatedly with an AK-47 and knocking him to the ground.

Hassan approached the incapacitated Soap to finish him off but realized he was out of ammunition, so Hassan smacked him unconscious with the rifle instead. Soap awoke in time to see Hassan drag towards a window, which Hassan blew open with an explosive. However, Soap was able to tell Ghost, who was located on a roof nearby, to watch the window. Hassan reminded Soap of his pledge that his nation (not knowing Soap is British) would see fire, and ridiculed Soap for thinking he could stop him. As Hassan picked up Soap to throw him out the window to his death, he boasted that they were not attacking, but invading. Ghost got Hassan in his sights and shot him directly in the head with his sniper rifle, instantly killing the Major.

We're here today because we lost a great leader, and I am here to declare revenge for the killing of General Ghorbrani. The West must pay for a century of hostile acts against us. Together, we will avenge the death of General Ghorbrani. We will have revenge for the death of our General! If the world courts do not punish these war criminals, we will take matters into our own hands at the time and place of our choosing. If we must, we will retaliate! We hold your soldiers and generals directly responsible for assassinating General Ghorbrani... Our brave General was executed by the West!.
