The Haunted Box is a Field Upgrade featured in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. It was added as part of The Haunting update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II on October 17th, 2023. The Haunted Box made its return in the Purgatory mode as part of the Season Six update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III on September 18th, 2024.
Overview[]
When thrown, the Haunted Box will chomp at the player before landing on the ground. Once there, the Haunted Box functions like the Munitions Box and Armor Box by dropping various different items such as Armor Plates, ammunition for the weapon the player has equipped, and lethal and tactical equipment. Similar to loot cache boxes during The Haunting event, the Haunted Box has a chance of jump-scaring the player.
