1st person view of the MG42 Heavy Machine Gun
A Heavy Machine Gun, or HMG, is the big brother to the more common Light Machine Gun. It appears in every Call of Duty that takes place in WWII except Call of Duty 2. Heavy Machine Guns have large magazines, medium-to-high fire rates and can be mounted in World at War. They also have very large hip-fire spread, slow ADS time, and are best used as defense or support, much like Light Machine Guns.
In World at War, Heavy Machine Guns are very effective when mounted, as one burst with Stopping Power will kill anyone not using Second Chance or Juggernaut.
