Opening Cutscene[]
An image and flashes of a tree with lightning is seen as it slowly gets closer.
F. Player: After the Aquifers, we certainly hadn't expected to see Kane again, let alone here. She wanted the same thing we did. The data drive on Deimos. Better yet, she knew where it was - it was moved from the Safehouse to a CIA Black Station in the Quarantine Zone.
Dr. Salim: Did she say why Goh Xiulan was trying to kill her?
F. Player: It wasn't Goh Xiulan. Xiulan was a puppet of Deimos, and Deimos wanted Kane dead. Guess he didn't like her very much.
Dr. Salim: Did you trust her?
F. Player: No, not yet. Our guard was up, but if she could get us to the Black Station, it was worth a shot.

Mission: Locate cause of lost communication in Singapore, Quarantine Zone and execute
Gameplay[]
The Player and Hendricks are standing in the back of a VTOL. Hendricks is eating a chocolate bar.
F. Player: The Singapore Quarantine Zone. We never thought we'd be back here.
Dr. Salim: Bad memories?
F. Player: You know damn well it certainly wasn't good ones, doc. The place was a living, breathing reminder of the incident five years ago.
Hendricks tosses away his candy bar.
F. Player: We'd be in and out quick. We weren't staying any longer than we had to.
Hendricks tosses a Micro-Missile Launcher to the Player.
F. Player: Find out who this Deimos asshole was and get the hell outta dodge.
The side door on the VTOL opens as it flares in. Hendricks and the Player jump down to the ground.
F. Player: Kane said the data drive on Deimos was encrypted and separated into two pieces. We needed both to access the drive. Like a lock and a key.
Dr. Salim: The lock, I assume, was at the Black Station. Where was the key?
Hendricks hands the Player an Anchor, and the two begin moving.
F. Player: The key... that was down by the docks. Undead central, heavy hostiles. We brought a DNI-Equipped Micro-Missile Launcher. Couldn't be too careful. That, and Command had prepped a drone strike to wipe out most of the dock, but with the high winds from the incoming superstorm - well, no guarantees it'd work. We grabbed our Spike Anchors in case we needed to be nailed down. After the docks, our rendezvous with Kane was set for an abandoned police station. Hendricks took point.
Two civilians, a man and a woman, are dragged forward by the Vultures.
Dr. Salim: More Vultures?
F. Player: Praying on the weak. Since the fall of the Immortals, they'd inherited all of Singapore - turned the place into some twisted version of the Wild West. After the events of the Safehouse, we caught their attention. They weren't exactly thrilled with us on their turf...
A Warlord punches the man in the face.
F. Player: ...and were taking it out on the locals to find us.
Dr. Salim: Why didn't you step in? You could've saved them.
F. Player: Calculated Risks.
An explosive collar is placed around the man's neck by the Vultures.
F. Player: We needed to stay quiet - and lay low.
Dr. Salim: But there's always a chance, isn't there?
While the Player speaks, the two civilians are placed back-to-back and handcuffed together. As Hendricks rises to do something about the situation, the Player stops him.
F. Player: Chance is a billion sighted die. You like the odds of that? If they didn't die today - they'd die tomorrow. If not tomorrow, the day after. One way or another, death was coming for all of us.
While the Player speaks, The Vultures walk away, leaving the civilians behind. The woman begins to scream as the explosive collar beeps before it explodes, killing both her and the man.
F. Player: Nobody was getting out alive. If we tried to save them, it could be our necks in those collars. We weren't there to save two people, we were there to save all the rest of us.
Hendricks begins firing his KN-44 at the Vultures.
F. Player: We needed to get to the Black Station - raising as little alarm as possible.
With her Launcher & MR6, the Player and Hendricks engage the Vultures, Warlord, and Zombies.
F. Player: Last thing we needed were the Dead - and Vultures after our throats. Turns out, the odds were already stacked against us.
The two clear out all hostiles and proceed through an exposed area with gale force winds pushing back at them, as they use their Anchors to hold on.
F. Player: The winds were picking up, the superstorm could hit at any moment. Good thing we grabbed those spike anchors. We were gonna need 'em.
The two enter inside a building, as the drone strike fires and misses the target, hitting a nearby building instead.
F. Player: The plan was to wait on the drone strike. Once it did it's part, we'd move in. The missiles were ineffective, the wind too strong. And now that ocean liner looked like it was about to rip free.
Hendricks and the Player head down.
F. Player: That thing would pulverize the dock - taking the data drive with it. Hendricks said "fuck it". We were built to kill the dead, no reason to switch it up now.
The two proceed through the flooded area with high waves, as they use their Anchors to hold on, and they clear out more Vultures and Zombies at a building nearby. They then fight their way across a wooden dock onto a cargo vessel, killing more Zombies and Parasites. Once the area is clear, the Player interacts with a console within one of the cargo containers.
F. Player: We secured the first part of the drive. And uploaded the information to Kane.
Hendricks leaps to the upper level of the wheelhouse.
F. Player: Hendricks moved to sweep the wheel house. The howling wind told us we had to hit it fast and quick.
The Player enters the wheelhouse as Hendricks performs a Concussive Wave to eliminate several Vultures. A slow-mo sequence follows during which the Player neutralizes the remaining Vultures. The roof of the wheelhouse tears off and the approaching derelict ship is barreling toward them.
F. Player: But of course the superstorm hit sooner than expected.
The Player and Hendricks ready their Anchors.
F. Player: The barge ripped free and barreled toward us. We had to think quick.
The Player and Hendricks both leap up to meet the oncoming ship and latch by ramming their Anchors into its hull.
F. Player: And hang on for dear life.
The ship continues forward, crushing the dock beneath it, and crashing through several buildings on the shore as a subway tunnel is seen. The Player and Hendricks are flung from the ship down into the subway tunnel, where they slowly get to their feet.
F. Player: We'd been set to rendezvous at an abandoned police station, but we were off route.
They approach a flooded section and dive beneath the surface to traverse it.
F. Player: We cut through the flooded subway to save time.
Emerging from the water, Hendricks and the Player make their way out of the subway station and encounter more Zombies & a gunner on a Technical, as Hendricks send out some fireflies. The two push through the Zombies in the first & second floors of the police station, and they head up to the third floor.
Cutscene[]
F. Player: With the dead cleared out, we moved toward our rendezvous.
A nearby door opens and they encounter another Warlord with a riot shield.
F. Player: Turns out we weren't the only living things in there. A Vulture got the drop on us, determined to reduce us to scrap metal. He'd hit a big payday with us cornered.
They succeed in causing the Warlord to drop his riot shield but he continues to blaze away with his BRM.
Dr. Salim: You were a "payday" to him? How so?
Suddenly, he is hit in the shoulder by a sniper round. While the Player speaks, a second round hits the Warlord forcing him to his knees before a headshot finishes him off.
F. Player: We were Deadkillers - you break us down to spare parts, you can fetch a pretty penny on the black market.
While Dr. Salim speaks, Kane steps from the hallway behind the Warlord and fires another shot with her Locus into the Warlord to be sure.
Dr. Salim: But you were there to fight the dead, you were an ally.
F. Player: Maybe in 2070, when we were the saviors of mankind.
The two get out of cover to meet with Kane.
F. Player: By 2075, everybody wanted a piece of us. This guy would've gotten his share, too...
F. Player: But Kane did her part to make sure that didn't happen.
Dr. Salim: She was well-trained... was she CIA? Winslow Accord?
F. Player: ...She was just someone who was always in the right place at the right time.
The Player looks at Hendricks before she follows Kane with Hendricks right behind.
F. Player: Before we could move on the Black Station, we had other priorities.
Dr. Salim: What had gone wrong?
Kane leans her Locus on the table and interacts with the keyboard.
F. Player: We hadn't taken the scavengers into account. They'd figure out they had Deadkillers in their midst. Kane told us they had a comms relay ahead - if we scramble them, it could lead the Vultures away from the Black Station. At least long enough for us to get what we needed.
Dr. Salim: So much for maintaining a low profile, I suppose.
Hendricks reload his KN-44.
Gameplay Two[]
Hendricks & the Player proceed to move.
F. Player: What did I tell you? Thing about Deadkillers... is there's always a Plan B. You don't create the problems, just the solutions. You adapt to what's thrown at you.
Dr. Salim: Adapt or die.
F. Player: Yeah... adapt or die. We plan to regroup with Kane outside of Chinatown.
Hendricks & the Player reach and attack the relay station, which is occupied by the Zombies as the two eliminated all of them as well as a Robot near the relay. While the Player speaks, she pulls out the Robot's head to make sure it's dead and drops its body.
F. Player: With their comms scrambled, we had one less nuisance to deal with at the Black Station. Now to get the drive and get the hell outta this shithole.
The Player hacks into the relay.
Dr. Salim: You couldn't take being here, could you? You felt haunted coming back to this city.
F. Player: The feeling had latched on to me at the Safehouse. Like I was being watched. Something had their eyes on me.
The Player successfully has the relay scrambled.
Dr. Salim: Something?... Not someone?
While the Player speaks, she and Hendricks make their way through an adjacent building.
F. Player: Nah, I just... felt something pulling me, guiding me. I couldn't shake it. Our rendezvous with Kane was just ahead.
A nearby building collapses, forming an impromptu bridge, as the two get across to the other side and they eventually regroup with Kane, who is observing the Black Station through her Locus' Scope.
F. Player: By the time we rendezvoused with Kane, the dead were crawling all over the street.
Dr. Salim: What was Kane's plan?
F. Player: Hit 'em in the gullet, then bag and tag. Gotta admit, the girl wasn't afraid of a fight. She seemed to welcome it. Relish it.
Dr. Salim: Like yourself?
F. Player: Like a Berserker. Like a Deadkiller.
The Player and Hendricks zipline down to street level while Kane provides sniper overwatch. Eventually, the Player, Hendricks, and Kane neutralized all the Undead and Vultures as they head toward the door of the Black Station, which Hendricks kicks it open. The three move inside and they come across a blown out reinforced door with a piece of rebar blocking it. Pushing the rebar out of the way, they make their way further inside and come across several Vultures trying to cut into a reinforced door. After the Vultures are dead, the Player and Hendricks move to pull the doors apart until Kane stops them, inputs an access code, and the doors open.
Cutscene Two[]
The three enter the room.
Dr. Salim: What did you find in the Black Station?
F. Player: Slaughtered CIA staff. We weren't the only ones looking for the data drives.
The camera pans across multiple corpses with their eyes gouged out, noses cut off, and ears removed.
F. Player: It was a gruesome scene... Kane quickly assembled the drive.
Dr. Salim: What did you learn? Did you find the information on Deimos?
F. Player: We found a dossier - a dairy, really - a living testament of what happened fifteen years ago, and in the years since. It explained Project Corvus - a CIA mind control experiment. These scientists had combined two ancient Biochemical Compounds.
Kane access a console nearby.
F. Player: Nova 6... and something called Element 115. They fused them together, created a chemical cocktail and injected it through their test subject's DNI. They wanted to control them.
Dr. Salim: Control them?
F. Player: Those corpses, below Coalescence in Project Corvus - they weren't patients. They were prisoners, the criminally insane. The scientists believed they could make them well again. Make people better.
Dr. Salim: But instead... they opened the Gateway.
F. Player: A Gateway to Malum, it's another dimension filled with absolute evil. It sounds crazy, even saying it now, but they opened it not realizing what they'd done and... and they let him through.
Dr. Salim: Deimos.
F. Player: Deimos: Demigod of Dread and Terror. He caused the Coalescence Disaster, unleashed 61-15 upon the world, creating the undead that roamed the Earth. There were details on Taylor's Team. They... they were working for Deimos, helped him trigger Armageddon. There was also other information on his sister.
F. Player: Dolos: Demigoddess of Trickery and Deception. Deimos, he... he didn't like her very much.
Dr. Salim: And the researcher... did he have a name? Who wrote this document?
F. Player: Yes, it was... w-wait. Holy shit... Dr. Salim. It said Dr. Salim. It was you. You wrote the dossier on Deimos. YOU were the man behind Project Corvus.
The screen fades to black and the mission ends.
