Safehouse[]

Player: Hey, Hendricks. Where are we again?

Hendricks: Singapore. One of my favorite places - apart from all the ones I actually like. We've got an appointment with our new LNO - inside the Quarantine zone.

Player: Oh yeah... This is a CIA op. This is their safehouse.

Hendricks: Glad you remember. I hope you also remember how I feel about the CIA watching our every move.

Player: Ah, they're always watching, Hendricks - you should know that. I think you're just getting grumpier with age.

Opening Cutscene[]

Flashback of the Singapore disaster as it unfolded and the Quarantine Zone being established. 54 Immortals soldiers are seen enforcing their will on the populace.

Hendricks: Local CIA Black Station's gone dark. Set up in the wake of the Singapore disaster, the Station was tasked with keeping an eye on the local operations.

Hendricks: Since the wall went up and the Authorities abandoned evacuation efforts, the place has pretty much been run by the dominant criminal organization - The 54 Immortals. Tell me what you got from the CIA.

Player: The Data package covered the whole sordid history - Explosion at the Old Coalescence facility killed 300,000, evacuation and reclamation efforts were abandoned in the wake of the super storms.

The Rendezvous Location is marked in the Quarantine Zone.

Hendricks: So what's so important here that the CIA have to send US into investigate?

A VTOL is seen entering the Quarantine Zone with Hendricks and the Player onboard.

Player: The Immortals have known links to the CDP and its allies - weapons and tech smuggling mostly.

Hendricks: No wonder the CIA are worried.

Level Briefing[]

Encryption# 20-6E-6F-74. Protocol: Whiskey

Shrouded In Darkness, the team is approved to use any means necessary...

Mission: Locate cause of lost communication in Singapore, Quarantine Zone and execute

Active Mission - Day 0

Gameplay[]

The Player and Hendricks are standing in the back of a VTOL. Hendricks is eating a chocolate bar.

Hendricks: Oh man... I can't even begin to tell you how good this tastes. After those nasty MRE's we were living on, this tastes like heaven.

M. Player: You know, you could get a mod that makes everything taste good.

F. Player: You know, you could get a mod that would make everything taste good.

Hendricks tosses away his candy bar.

Hendricks: Aw, if I did that, I'd never get to appreciate the real thing.

Hendricks tosses a Micro-Missile Launcher to the Player.

Player: Not fucking around are we?

WA Pilot: Alright, this is as far as we go.

Side door on the VTOL opens as it flares in.

Hendricks: Alright, let's get to work.

Hendricks and the Player jump down to the ground.

Hendricks: In this lawless shithole, we can actually feel good about our 'by any means necessary' mandate.

Hendricks: When the full force of the Storm hits - we'll be looking at 150 mile per hour winds. Take this... We wouldn't want you to get blown away.

Hendricks hands the Player an Anchor.

Hendricks: Kane, moving in to scramble the 54 Immortals' communication systems.

Kane: Copy that, Hendricks. Afraid I'm gonna need you to make a pit stop along the way. The Immortals have already breached the Black Station. They're prepping a shipment for transport at the docks.

Player: Why would the Immortals attack a shanty town?

Hendricks: They must have had something they wanted.

Kane: If sensitive materials fall into the hands of the CDP, it could prove extremely damaging to the Winslow Accords. We're awaiting confirmation on a drone strike, but I need you to move to intercept - We have to be 100% sure.

Hendricks: Activity ahead. Stay low.

Two civilians, a man and a woman, are dragged forward by the Immortals. A Warlord punches the man in the face.

Hendricks: The Immortals run a well established trade in human flesh. They sell people for whatever purpose you may want 'em. That's why they attacked the shanty town.

An explosive collar is placed around the man's neck by the Immortals.

M. Player: What are they strapping to his neck?

Hendricks: The collar makes sure they can't get away.

The two civilians are placed back to back and handcuffed together. Hendricks rises to do something about the situation.

M. Player: Whoa, whoa, Hendricks. Not our mission. There's not a lot we can do here.

F. Player: What did he just put on his neck?

Hendricks: The collar makes sure they can't get away.

The two civilians are placed back to back and handcuffed together. Hendricks rises to do something about the situation.

The two civilians are placed back to back and handcuffed together. Hendricks rises to do something about the situation.

F. Player: Hendricks! Stand down - it's not our mission. There's not a lot we can do here.

The Immortals walk away leaving the civilians behind. The woman begins to scream as the explosive collar beeps before it explodes, killing both her and the man.

Hendricks: We can kill the son of a bitch!

Hendricks begins firing his KN-44 at the Immortals.

Hendricks: Gotta get to cover - follow me!

Hendricks: Heads up! We got a technical entering the area!

Hendricks: Hostiles in the building - third floor!

Hendricks: Clear 'em out - double time!

Hendricks: Hit 'em with the swarm launcher!

If the Player tries to use the swarm launcher or grenades on the Warlord:

Hendricks: Grenades ain't gonna cut it!

Player: I hear you!

If the Player tries to use the swarm launcher or grenades on the Warlord again:

Hendricks: Explosives ain't doing shit - its armor's too tough!

If the Warlord is still alive:

Hendricks: Come on - take that bastard out!

Player: I'm on it!

Hendricks: All clear. (Once the firefight is over)

Player: That was one tough son of a bitch. (Referring to the Warlord)

Hendricks: Immortals can lay their hands on pretty much any weaponry and gear out there.

Hendricks: The superstorm's winds are gonna hit harder as we move to higher ground. Get ready to plant that bolt driver and hold the fuck on!

Hendricks and the Player proceed through an exposed area with gale force winds pushing back at them. When there is a warning of high winds approaching:

Hendricks: Wind's picking up - use the bolt driver! [or] Brace yourself! [or] Use your bolt driver! [or] Bolt driver - now!

Hendricks and the Player enter inside a building.

Kane: We are a 'Go' on Drone Strike.

Drone Ops: We're live. Strike inbound.

Incoming strike misses and hits a nearby building.

Drone Ops: Negative effect. Incoming Superstorm too strong.

Hendricks: Storm's only gonna get worse. Fuck it. Kane, we're going in.

Kane: Hendricks, hold position!

Hendricks: These waves are gonna be a problem - keep that bolt driver handy!

Hendricks and the Player proceed through the flooded area with high waves.

Hendricks: Waves hitting now - use your bolt driver! (When there is a warning of high waves approaching)

Hendricks: If you've got any rockets left, now might be a good time! (As they approach a cluster of Immortals)

Player: Copy that Hendricks.

Hendricks and the Player clear out the Immortals and move up.

Hendricks: Storm's getting worse! This AO's gonna be non-viable real soon! Visibility's getting worse! Activate tactical mode so they don't get the drop on us.

Hendricks and the Player fight their way across a wooden dock onto a cargo vessel.

Player: All clear. Kane we've reached the cargo. Now what? (once all hostiles on the ship are dealt with)

Kane: I need you to interface - I'll use your DNI to extract and delete the intel.

Player: You can do that?

Kane: Your DNI is connected to our central database. All transmissions are logged and tracked.

The Player interacts with a console within one of the cargo containers.

Kane: Files secured and redacted. Storm's getting worse. It's pushing a derelict tanker right towards you.

Player: Got it. Thanks Kane.

Hendricks leaps to the upper level of the wheelhouse.

Hendricks: I'll take the upper deck, you take the lower. Ready?

The Player enters the wheelhouse as Hendricks performs a Concussive Wave to eliminate several hostiles. A slow-mo sequence follows during which the Player neutralizes the remaining hostiles.

Hendricks: Storm's about to hit! Hang on!

The roof of the wheelhouse tears off and the approaching derelict ship is barreling toward them.

Hendricks: That ship's gonna tear up this dock like it's balsa wood. Jump to the boat. Go!

The Player readies his/her Bolt Driver.

Hendricks: Go! Now!

The Player and Hendricks both leap up to meet the oncoming ship and latch by ramming their bolt drivers into its hull. The ship continues forward, crushing the dock beneath it.

Kane: There's a Subway tunnel up ahead - it'll take you right to the 54i Communication HUB.

The ship crashes through several buildings on the shore and a subway tunnel is visible.

Hendricks: I think this is our stop.

The Player and Hendricks are flung from the ship down into the subway tunnel where they slowly get to their feet. They approach a flooded section and dive beneath the surface to traverse it.

Player: Kane - we're approaching the Comm Center. We'll update when we've cleaned house.

Kane: Better make it fast - we're already getting word that intel detailing precise weaknesses in our allies' troop strength has been leaked to the CDP. This will inevitably lead to heavy losses on our side. We need to put a lid on this.

Player: Understood.

Emerging from the water, Hendricks and the Player make their way out of the Subway station and encounter a patrol of 54i.

Hendricks: Quiet. I see you. Highlighting enemies now - I'm gonna hit 'em with some fireflies.

Hendricks and the Player engage the Immortals outside.

Player: Kill confirmed (When the MG gunner is dead)

Once the outside is cleared:

Hendricks: Moving to first floor.

Hendricks: Hostiles - above and below!

Hendricks and the Player enter & engage the Immortals inside the building.

Hendricks: Top floor!

Hendricks: Bastards have riot shields! Hit 'em with some frags! (On encountering riot shield enemies)

Once the first floor is cleared:

Hendricks: Moving to second floor.

More Immortals, half with riot shields, appear and Hendricks & the Player clear out the second floor.

Hendricks: Moving to third floor.

Hendricks and the Player move up to the third floor.

Cutscene[]

Hendricks: Kane, we're wrapping up our sweep.

A nearby door opens and they encounter another Warlord with a riot shield.

Hendricks: Warlord - take cover! Get back!

Player: Hendricks, you hit?

Hendricks: No, I got him!

They succeed in causing the Warlord to drop his riot shield but he continues to blaze away with his BRM until he is hit in the shoulder by a sniper round.

Player: What the hell? Who's shooting?

A second round hits the Warlord forcing him to his knees before a headshot finishes him off. Kane steps from the hallway behind the Warlord and fires another shot with her Locus into the Warlord to be sure.

Kane: You guys okay back there?

Hendricks: Agent Kane? I thought I told you to stay up top.

Kane: Seemed like you could use some help. Besides, you two made so much noise every 54i foot soldier's gonna be scrambling to respond. We need to get back on track - we've got to shut down their comms before they figure out what the fuck's going on. Follow me.

Hendricks: After you.

The Player looks at Hendricks before he/she follows Kane with Hendricks right behind. Kane leans her Locus on the table and interacts with the keyboard.

Kane: It's locked down. They've routed all comms through a secondary relay.

Hendricks: Can you locate it?

Kane: Ehh, give me a second. Got it. We should be able to upload the scrambler from there. We'll regroup at the Black Station.

Hendricks reload his KN-44.

Gameplay Two[]

Hendricks: Sounds like a plan. Let's move.

Hendricks: So Kane, what's the plan once we reach the Black Station?

Kane: Strike and strip. Your DNIs mean you're basically walking data drives. We upload all data to you then wipe everything.

Player: What about evac for any survivors?

Kane: Facts are - the station went dark. It was raided by the dominant militarized force in this territory. It's likely there won't be any survivors.

Hendricks: Kane - we're approaching the comms relay. It's heavily defended.

Hendricks & the Player reach and attack the relay station, which is guarded by 54i Soldiers and Robots. After assaulting the relay station, the Player pulls out a Robot's head to make sure it's dead and drops the Robot's body.

Hendricks: Get to work on that relay. Make sure these sons of bitches can't talk to each other.

The Player hacks into the relay.

Hendricks: Kane, comms are coming down as we speak. Where are you?

Kane: I've got eyes on the Black Station. It's swarming with 54 Immortals. Sending you an updated RP to your HUD.

Hendricks: On our way. We done here?

Player: We're done.

The two make their way through an adjacent building.

Hendricks: Structure's unstable. Could break apart at any point.

Player: Watch out Hendricks, that building's coming down!

A nearby building collapses, forming an impromptu bridge.

Hendricks: Watch your step! You don't want bad weather to be part of your epitaph!

M. Player: This place is falling apart. Hard to believe people still live here.

F. Player: This place is falling apart. It's hard to believe people still live here.

The Player and Hendricks meet up with Kane, who is observing the Black Station through her Locus' Scope.

Kane: They're still on site, trying to grab everything they can before the worst of the storm hits.

Hendricks: What do you suggest?

Kane: I suggest we hit 'em before the storm does.

The Player and Hendricks zipline down to street level while Kane provides sniper overwatch.

Kane: You've got hostiles inbound - dead ahead!

A lightning strike hits a group of grunts.

Hendricks: Their grunts will have to reboot. Take 'em out while we have the chance!

Kane: Enemy Warlord!

Hendricks: Reinforcements coming down the street!

Hendricks: Kane, we've got eyes on the Black Station.

Hendricks approaches a door and kicks it in.

Hendricks: Okay, let's find out what we're dealing with here.

They come across a blown out reinforced door with a piece of rebar blocking it.

Hendricks: The hell tore through here? Something left in a hurry. Kane?

Kane: Could be... 54i grunt detonations.

Hendricks: Yeah, maybe if the doors were blown in... but they're blown out.

Making their way further inside, they come across several 54i trying to cut into a reinforced door.

Hendricks: Something up ahead. Get ready!

The 54i Soldiers are killed. A recorded voice is heard through the door.

Hendricks: You hear that? There's someone in there. We need this door open now. Let's go.

The Player and Hendricks move to pull the doors apart until:

Kane: There's no need for brute force. Sometimes you just need to knock.

Kane inputs an access code and the doors open.

Cutscene Two[]

The trio enter the room. An unidentified voice recording is playing in the background.

Hendricks: Holy fuck...

The camera pans across multiple corpses with their eyes gouged out, noses cut off, and ears removed.

Hendricks: Turn that shit off!

Kane turns off the voice recording.

Hendricks: What the fuck... is this, Kane?

Kane: Running a search now... "Denial of Reincarnation". Perpetrated by Jae Xiong. 54 Immortals enforcer. It was an execution method reserved for their worst enemies. Performed while they were still alive...

Kane: Oh no. That's not good.

Hendricks: What? Something else?

Kane: The data drives. They're gone. Surveillance footage, reports, debriefs, everything we came here to download and clear. The local hard copy of CIA black site provides a daily sync with ongoing CIA global activity. If that gets out-

M. Player: It would compromise every CIA operation around the world.

F. Player: It'll compromise every CIA operation around the world.

Hendricks: What about the drive's tracker?

Kane: [laughs] Biodomes. The heart of 54 Immortals operations and home of brother-sister team and leaders: Goh Min and Goh Xiulan.

Hendricks: So let's go get our drives and give them a little payback.

Kane: I don't think the Immortals killed these people. You saw the doors blasted from the inside, you saw the drilling. They never made it inside this room.

Hendricks: So who do you think did it? I mean, who else had access to this?

Kane: The last recorded operation at this station... involved a Winslow Accord Black Cyber Ops unit. It was John Taylor's team.

M. Player: What?... You think they had something to do with these murders?

F. Player: You think they had something to do with these murders?

Hendricks: There's no fucking way, Kane. Look, I know Taylor. There's no way he'd turn on his own!

The screen fades to black and the mission ends.
