— Description

Incendiary Ammo is an Ammo Type in Call of Duty: Ghosts in Extinction mode, a Gun Perk within Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, a skill in Call of Duty: WWII and as an ammo Attachment within Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.

Call of Duty: Ghosts[]

It costs $1200 to deploy. It will continue to do damage even after the player has stopped firing, and also has an area of effect which can damage nearby Cryptids. It also appears in Chaos Mode, and once obtained, it persists to every weapon including ones picked-up.

Apart from Cryptid Slayer Ammo, which is an expensive armory upgrade, Incendiary Ammo is the preferred and most popular of the basic ammo types in Extinction, due to its raw power, especially since Incendiary Ammo is one of the few ammo types that has an armory upgrade that purely upgrades the damage of Incendiary Ammo. The lingering damage allows a lot of weapons to be able to kill cryptids with less shots. It can be especially helpful for very high damage per shot weapons to ensure more one shot kills. Incendiary Ammo works very well on Scouts, as there aren't many weapons in the game that can't kill a Scout with one or two incendiary shots, as the incendiary does a very good job at preserving ammunition. Incendiary Ammo is also incredibly effective on Seekers and Bombers, as they are incredibly fragile, and oftentimes the incendiary damage after a successful hit will be sufficient to kill them.

Phantoms are particularly resilient to the lingering damage, as the lingering damage effect is significantly shorter on a Phantom. The lingering damage effect is also negligible in boss fights, as bosses cannot be lit on fire with the use of Incendiary Ammo.

Having Incendiary Ammo loaded in the user's active weapon also allows the user to take advantage of the incendiary glitch with the Mounted Minigun Turrets placed on the map, giving the turret the effect of Incendiary Ammo for free.
