The Infantry Assault Vehicle or IAV, is a Killstreak and vehicle featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and a vehicle in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty: Mobile and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare[]

The IAV is available both Killstreak and Vehicle in Multiplayer.

Killstreak[]

"A manned light infantry vehicle with a .50 cal machine gun on top."
— In-game description

It is an airdropped armored vehicle that can transport two players, one acting as the driver controlling the IAV's movement and rapid-firing cannon, and another as the gunner operating a pintle-mounted .50 cal machine gun but are exposed to attacks. It takes time for players to enter an IAV, and it can be hijacked by enemies. It has a "fuel" bar, which steadily ticks down and will remove the IAV from play when exhausted, as well as a health bar.

Infantry Assault Vehicle features two HEAT rockets that can be fired by the driver/cannon-gunner. The rocket is similar in property to Strela-P projectiles, dealing powerful damage to enemy armor.

The Infantry Assault Vehicle as killstreak is only available on large maps including Aniyah Palace, Arklov Peak, Grazna Raid and in Ground War maps. It is replaced by Wheelson on other maps.

Depending on which faction the player is playing (Allegiance or Coalition), the IAV will sport a different design.

Vehicle[]

"A two-man crew can go on the attack with the Infantry Assault Vehicle, rout enemies with its 30mm cannon or engage enemy armor with Anti-Tank Missile. A second crew member can man the light machine gun from the top firing position."
— In-game description

The vehicle version of IAV is automatically spawned in Ground War maps and works the same way as the Killstreak version but does not have a time limitation. IAVs are also usable in Spec Ops.

Customization[]

The skins acquired are shared between the two versions.
