The Invasion of Urzikstan is a major event in the Modern Warfare reboot timeline.

Background[]

Sometime before the events of Hometown, Russian forces led by rogue Lieutenant General Roman Barkov entered Urzikstan and occupied part of the country. After the Urzik army and resistance fought back against the invaders, Barkov launched a full-scale invasion of the country.

The Invasion[]

Barkov launched the invasion at Riyzabbi. His troops ruthlessly attacked the region and Barkov deployed poison gas which resulted in very high civilian casualties. Those women and children who survived the initial attacks were taken into custody and evacuated on trucks. During this chaos, Fatima Karim was killed and her daughter Farah was buried under rubble. After being rescued by her father, Walid, and aid workers they retreated to their family home. Walid attempted to flee to the mountains with Farah and his son Hadir, but they were stopped and attacked by Russian soldier J-12. Walid attempted to protect his children but was killed by J-12. Farah made sure his sacrifice was not in vain, though, as she was able to mount sneak attacks on J-12 with makeshift weapons, eventually killing him and rescuing her brother.

Taking J-12's gas mask, the two children hid from the Russians, who were executing the remaining survivors in the streets, and eventually reached the outskirts of Urzikstan. There, they found a truck being guarded by two more soldiers, Luka and Andrei. With Hadir posing as a distraction, Farah stole a revolver and killed the soldiers. Hadir then attempted to drive himself and his sister away but the two were captured by Barkov. Outraged at the "little devils" for killing his soldiers, Barkov captured them and had them driven away in a truck.

Aftermath[]

Along with Farah and Hadir, many other children were captured and imprisoned in Tobrak. Farah led a prison break 10 years later, which escalated the on-going insurgency in Urzikstan.
