Plot[]

A Jackal pilot, SCAR 2-1, is being tasked with their first flight to patrol the SWC-141 Retribution, its flotilla and its surrounding space for any damage caused by debris from a satellite's destruction the previous day. SCAR 2-1 is given instructions by another Jackal pilot, SCAR 1-2, as they patrol.

Upon launching from the Retribution, SCAR 2-1 is tasked with performing a patrol of the rear sensor array and main thrusters of the Retribution, accompanied by SCAR 1-2. As they approach the sensor array, SCAR 2-1 stops at the array and performs a diagnostic scan. The sensor array is revealed to have taken moderate damage by the diagnostic, and SCAR 1-2 alerts the officer of the Retribution, Actual 1-1, to send out a maintenance team. Actual then requests the Jackals to destroy any remaining debris to prevent further damage. Actual then remarks they are reading energy fluctuation anomalies ahead related to the damaged sensor array, and request the Jackals to get a view of the anomaly.

Upon approaching the anomaly, an SDF Supercarrier appears from the anomaly with Skelters and start to attack the flotilla, resulting in SCAR 1-2 to request for fighter support. Actual confirms the release of a fighter squadron involving Reaper 3-1, as SCAR 1-2 commands SCAR 2-1 to engage the Skelters and draw fire away from the Retribution. As the fighting ensues, Actual alerts the fighters to a buildup of energy from the SDF Destroyer and to target it, which destroys one of the ships in the flotilla with an energy beam. SCAR 1-2 then alerts SCAR 2-1 to focus fire on the destroyer to prevent the destruction of more ships, with Tigris providing supporting fire. After the destroyer is defeated, the accompanying Skelters retreat, and SCAR 1-2 informs SCAR 2-1 to return to base.
