Jae Xiong is a character featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops III. He was an Enforcer for the 54 Immortals prior to the Singapore Disaster.
Biography[]
Reality[]
Not much is known about Jae Xiong other than the fact that he was one of the 54 Immortals' enforcers. He specialized in a killing method known as the "Denial of Reincarnation", which involved severing the fingers, tongue, nose, and eyes of the victim. In 2046, following the murder of 54i leader Goh Cheung by his bodyguard Hyun Jian, Jae Xiong took care of Cheung's two young children, Goh Min and Goh Xiulan, acting as their mentor during their youth.
In 2048, Xiong killed Jian and allowed the two children to become the joint leaders of the 54i. Twelve years later, on June 2nd, 2060, Xiong was kidnapped by the CIA and used as a test subject in the SP/CORVUS project, carried out underneath the Coalescence Corporation facility in Singapore. He was forcibly implanted with a Direct Neural Interface and his thoughts were monitored and logged by the project's AI Corvus. Eventually, Jae Xiong's consciousness - as well as those of the other test subjects - digitally merged with Corvus, creating a sentient hivemind. This hivemind enacted revenge on its kidnappers by unleashing a stockpile of Nova 6 gas that was being illegally stockpiled at the same facility, killing all of SP/CORVUS' researchers (except Sebastian Krueger and Yousef Salim). However, the gas also killed 300,000 innocent people when it leaked outside the facility, leading to the creation of the Singapore Quarantine Zone. Jae Xiong was killed in the disaster, but his consciousness remained a part of Corvus.
By 2064, SP/CORVUS director Sebastian Krueger had restarted the project at the Coalescence Headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, where once again the AI Corvus was employed to monitor the thoughts of those implanted with a DNI. Jae Xiong's digital consciousness lived on as part of Corvus' hivemind until the AI was purged by John Taylor in 2065.
Immersion[]
During the immersion inside John Taylor's memories, Corvus takes control of Taylor's team and uses them to murder the CIA Black Station staff in Singapore, mirroring Dylan Stone's actual murder of the Black Station staff in 2064. Corvus has Taylor and his team perform Xiong's signature "Denial of Reincarnation" torture on the CIA personnel, indicating that Xiong's consciousnesses is still alive within Corvus' hivemind and still sought revenge against his real-life kidnappers. Later, Jacob Hendricks and The Player found Jae Xiong's decomposed corpse while searching the Coalescence facility in Singapore.
