"Says steering mechanism is sticking, its not"
— Cpl. Rudinski

"Hope you're right"
Papa Jack to Cpl. Rudinski

Cpl. Joakim "Lucky Ruud" Rudinski is a Polish tanker in the Polish Campaign.

Biography

He is mostly seen in cutscenes.

Rudinski has a reputation for being unexpectedly right all the time, for example if he says they live, they live. Lucky is the tank's radio operator, who receives any orders the team is assigned to. He tells the tank crew of their orders to pursue Gen. Richter of the Germans. Later, when Richter is killed, after Pte. Ulan tells Papa Jack about his possible promotion, Rudinski hollers in excitement that they will all get promotions.

Later he is seen in another cutscene where he tells Papa Jack that the protagonist of the Polish campaign, Bohater, is performing maintenance, while Lucky says it is not needed.

Later the Polish take Hill 262, and after Bohater narrowly escapes death with Ulan's help, Rudinski, Bohater, and Ulan fight their way up to Papa Jack, Sgt. Kolwalski, and others. They then witness Papa Jack and Kolwalski getting thrown back by tank fire. Papa Jack survives, but Kolwalski gets killed in the explosion. Later, the crew meet up with Pvt. Leslie Baron of the Canadians, and he tells Bohater to spot targets with him. Shortly afterwards, Lucky and the crew look out at a group of tanks they think are the Canadians. Unfortunately, for once he was wrong, and they were the Germans.

Death

During that time, Lucky was not so lucky. Once Rudinski finds out it's not the Canadians a tank shot from below kills him along with several random soldiers, much to the despair of the other tank crew members.

Appearance and Traits

Rudinski was most likely the smartest of the tank crew. He has a short beard, and a buzz cut. In terms of uniform, he wears one similar to Sgt. Kolwalski's, only his is more brownish in color and he does not wear a scarf.

Trivia

  • It seems to be more than coincidence that Rudinski and Kolwalski both die in the same level, and wear the same clothing.
