"Some soldier I was going to be."
— Joe Miller

Private Joe Miller was a Marine Raider in the 2nd Marine Division, who faced The Empire of Japan during World War II in Call of Duty: World at War: Final Fronts. He is one of the four playable characters in the game. The other members of his squad are Polonsky and Carter, and he serves under Sgt. Roebuck.

Biography[]

Miller mentions that he joins the Marines rather than be drafted. Miller is first seen at a Marine training camp in North Carolina, along with Roebuck and Polonsky. He then fights the Japanese at Guadacanal, during the final days of the campaign. He then takes part in the attack on Betio, destroying Japanese artillery, taking control of a needed airfield and attacking the enemy HQ. Miller then fights at Saipan during the landing of the American forces and in the attack of Mountain Tapochau, destroying the artillery of the Japanese. Later, Miller takes part in the bloody Battle of Okinawa, clearing the path to Shuri Castle. Miller's squad then secures Shuri Castle.
