Detective John McClane is an Operator of the NATO faction featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty: Warzone, as well as a playable character in Call of Duty: Mobile. McClane was released on May 20th, 2021 during Season Three of content for Black Ops Cold War and Season 3: Tokyo Escape of Call of Duty: Mobile as part of the "Die Hard Operator Bundle" which was available between May 20th and June 19th, 2021. In Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, the bundle returned during Season Six between October 11th and November 10th, 2021.

McClane's voice lines and appearance are adapted from Die Hard.
The finishing move "Hidden Gun", included in the Die Hard Operator Bundle, is a reference to a scene in Die Hard, in which McClane pulls out a concealed pistol taped behind his back to wound the film's antagonist, Hans Gruber.
McClane has a unique pose when walking in the menu screen.
This does not apply when using shotguns, pistols, or melees as the display weapon.
