- "Me? No thank you, comrade!"
- — Kovalenko
Private Kovalenko (Russian: Коваленко) was part of Sgt. Yakov Pavlov's group in the mission "Pavlov's House". He assisted Pavlov in taking the apartment building.
In game[]
Kovalenko and the rest of the squad waited for another experienced sniper, when another Private, Alexei Voronin, came along with a Scoped Mosin-Nagant. Pavlov ordered him to distract the sniper as the "bait", as the "fastest man" in the group. Kovalenko initially complained, but Pavlov threatened to shoot him if he didn't comply, so went out into the open.
If player fails to kill all the German snipers before Kovalenko reaches the end of the field, the player will have to locate the snipers on their own, which makes the task of eliminating the snipers a bit more difficult.
The player cannot engage German snipers until Kovalenko lures them out.
After all of the snipers have been eliminated he turns into a regular soldier and can be killed. If he survives until the defense of the building, he will mount the MG42 until Russian reinforcements arrive, but he will not leave the house.
