The Krasny Soldat (Russian: Красный Солдат, lit. Red Soldier), also referred to as Mech Z in the game files is an Elite Class enemy featured in Outbreak and Mauer der Toten within Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies mode.

Overview[]

Krasny Soldats are members of Omega Group suited in a set of powered armor designed by Dimitri Kuhlklay that were assigned as part of defensive and mining operations within the Dark Aether, but succumbed to the corrupting presence that the Dark Aether holds. These newly twisted Krasny Soldats are then upgraded by an unknown force[1] within the Dark Aether prior to being unleashed as a threat.

The Krasny Soldat utilizes a primarily fire based arsenal, with a flamethrower alongside an arm cannon that can be swung for melee attacks in close quarters for high damage alongside firing incendiary projectiles that function much like Molotov Cocktails. Much like the Mangler, Krasny Soldats process destructible armor that covers the critical point and all of the body of the original operator. Even at distance, the Krasny Soldat can be a threat as it can close the distance by utilizing a destructible jetpack situated on its back to launch itself towards players at extreme speeds. Destroying the jetpack will cause an explosion to occur, dealing heavy damage and disabling the ability to Krasny Soldat to jump. Krasny Soldats take additional elemental damage from explosive and cryo elements, such as those dealt by Shatter Blast and Cryofreeze respectively.

The Elite variant of the Krasny Soldat simply possesses much more health than the Special variant alongside adopting a red color scheme to their armor.
