The Kriegsmarine was the naval warfare branch of the Nazi German Military, and appears in Call of Duty and Call of Duty: Big Red One.

Call of Duty

The most significant appearance of the Kriegsmarine is in the level Battleship Tirpitz when Captain Price, Sgt. Waters and Sgt. Evans infiltrate and sabotage the Tirpitz. The Tirpitz during this operation, because the ship was undergoing repair, thus the majority of its crew were on leave, only a small skeleton crew was present.

Call of Duty 2: Big Red One

The Kriegsmarines appears in the level Liberators when "Stretch" Roger uses a B-24 Liberator to attack German ships in a convoy. The convoy is made up of three destroyers armed with anti-aircraft weaponry.

Trivia

  • The only sailor given a name was Schmidt who is seen dead and mentioned in Call of Duty.
  • Even though a ship is usually manned by a variety of sailors with varying ranks and jobs, the only ranks seen on the Tirpitz are Kapitän (for the officer skin, equivalent to an American Captain (naval) or a Colonel (Army)) and Matrosengefreiter (sailor skin, equivalent to an American Seaman or Private (Army, EF-2)).
