The Laser Turret is a futuristic form of portable artillery used in an anti-aircraft and anti-missile role that appears in Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Call of Duty: Heroes. As the name suggests, powerful lasers are mounted on a trailer and fired at incoming threats. Warning stickers on the side indicate that organic matter is vaporized upon coming into contact with the laser beam.
Laser Turrets are used twice throughtout the campaign. During the Strike Force mission "Shipwreck", the SDC are using them to protect a missile-carrying freighter docked at Keppel Terminal, Singapore. Kraken must jam the turrets, thereby allowing the freighter to be sunk with a missile.
In the mission "Judgement Day", Cordis Die use them to protect the Haitian facility from airborne attack. It is a challenge for the player to destroy all.
They may be the precursors to the laser-based D.E.A.D systems seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops III.
