"Launch a coordinated Lighting Strike on three locations."
— Scorestreak description

The Lightning Strike is a Scorestreak reward featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops II that requires a scorestreak of 750 points. The Lightning Strike is similar to the Mortar Team Killstreak from Call of Duty: Black Ops in that one chooses three target points to deliver a payload on the map. Several FA38 planes rapidly bomb the selected locations, thereby killing its targets much quicker than the mortar team and making it near impossible for the enemy to escape. One feature of this scorestreak is that when the scorestreak is used a short UAV like blip will occur showing all enemies on the map for a second in order to more accurately use the streak. There does not seem to be a way to avoid this blip.

After the 1.04 patch update on 12/7/12 (For PS3 users), a 750 millisecond delay was added between the targeting of the bombing areas and the strike itself, significantly lessening the Scorestreak's effectiveness.
