- For other uses, see Barrel.
- For a weapon proficiency with a similar effect, see Range.
The Long Barrel is an attachment featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Call of Duty: Mobile. It was also cut from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II
The Long Barrel increases the range of a weapon by 16%. Therefore, the longer the initial range of a gun is, the longer the maximum range will be. The attachment is available for submachine guns, shotguns and handguns. It is incompatible with the suppressor attachment, for balancing reasons. This is most effective on shotguns, as it increases the maximum range the pellets can hit a target before vanishing. On handguns, it's not as effective, except for the Executioner, where it makes the weapon much more effective. It also adds a physically longer barrel to the weapon as well.
Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified
- "Increased effective weapon range."
- — In-game description.
The Long Barrel returns as the Extended Barrel.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III
The Long Barrel appears as an attachment for several weapons in Call of Duty: Black Ops III. It functions a lot differently compared to the Long Barrel from Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
The long barrel changes every weapon category differently:
- All assault rifles except KN-44 and KVK 99m have their range doubled
- KN-44's range is increased by 13% and KVK 99m's range is increased by 30%
- Submachine guns have their minimum damage range increased by 25%
- Shotguns have their minimum damage range increased by 13% and minimum base damage decreased by 20% (meaning it does not help with one-shot kills, and allows them to reach further with decreased damage)
- Handguns have their range increased by 13%
Aesthetically, it adds an extension to a weapon's muzzle. It is now compatible with the Suppressor barrel attachment.

Trivia
Call of Duty: Black Ops II
- The only weapons to actually change appearance cosmetically when outfitted with the Long Barrel are the Executioner and the Olympia.
- The Long Barrel doesn't actually increase the damage inflicted. Despite the statistic increase, rather it increases the distance of the damage drop-off by increasing the range.
- Menendez's Executioner in "Odysseus" has a long barrel attached, while in "Achilles' Veil", it has a standard barrel.
- The Long Barrel icon uses the M8A1 barrel, despite the attachment not being available to assault rifles.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III
- When naming a new weapon variant with Gunsmith, the icon of Long Barrel in Black Ops II can be seen. Ironically, the KN-44 in the image is equipped with a Silencer instead of Long Barrel.
