The Beretta M93 Raffica is a burst-fire machine pistol featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty Online and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. It was cut from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2[]

Campaign[]

In the campaign, the M93 Raffica is found in "The Gulag", in the armory before proceeding with the search through the cells for Prisoner 627; the weapon is a little hard to spot, being on the lowest shelf on the right below the AA-12. It is also found in "Loose Ends" in the armory in the basement. It is also found in "Museum". When being held, one of the few noticeable differences between it and the M9 is that the player holds the grip on the front part of the Raffica with both hands.

Multiplayer[]

In multiplayer the M93 Raffica is the penultimate machine pistol, being unlocked at level 38.

An important thing to note is that the M93 Raffica, despite belonging in the machine pistol category, is coded as a handgun. As such, it has the same quick drop and quick raise functions of the handguns, and can be used in Last Stand, two things that none of the machine pistols have access to. The M93 Raffica also has other statistical characteristics of a handgun. As such, it may be more appropriate to compare the M93 Raffica to other handguns instead of comparing it to machine pistols.

At any range short of 12.5 meters, the M93 Raffica will deal forty damage per bullet, needing three shots - or one burst - to kill. Damage decreases linearly until 18.8 meters. At any range past 18.8 meters, the M93 Raffica will deal thirty damage per bullet, needing four shots to kill, more than one burst. The M93 Raffica has a three shot kill range of 16.2 meters. Headshots deal forty percent extra damage. Two headshots can secure a kill up close, and at medium to long ranges, a headshot guarantees a three shot kill. Headshot or not, the M93 Raffica kills in one shot at all ranges in Hardcore against regular enemies. The M93 Raffica has low penetration power.

The M93 Raffica's damage per bullet increases when using Stopping Power. At any range short of 12.5 meters, the M93 Raffica will deal 56 damage per bullet, needing just two out of three shots in a burst to kill. Damage decreases linearly until 18.8 meters. At any range past 18.8 meters, the M93 Raffica will deal 42 damage per bullet, needing three shots - or every bullet in the burst - to kill. The M93 Raffica has a two shot kill range of 15.1 meters. Headshots will deal forty percent extra damage. This will not improve performance at close range, but at medium and long ranges, a headshot guarantees a two shot kill.

The M93 Raffica fires in a three round burst configuration. The M93 Raffica fires at a rate of 937 RPM within the burst. However, when factoring in the mandatory burst delay, the M93 Raffica's maximum sustained rate of fire is 459 RPM.

The M93 Raffica has recoil values of 45 to the left, 45 to the right, 60 upwards, and 30 downwards. The M93 Raffica has a centerspeed of 1500. Unlike most handguns, the M93 Raffica has the standard idle sway aspects of a machine pistol, so idle sway will be reduced. The M93 Raffica's iron sights are slightly misaligned, as the centre post is closer to the right side of the rear iron sight post than the left side of the rear iron sight post, but the iron sights are small enough that such a difference will rarely matter at close and medium range. The M93 Raffica's iron sights also has the innate zoom level of a handgun, making it a degree less magnified than the iron sights on machine pistols.

The M93 Raffica allows users to move at 100% of the base movement speed, or strafe at 80% of the base movement speed. The M93 Raffica allows users to aim down the sights in a swift 100 milliseconds, slightly faster than other handguns. The M93 Raffica has standard handgun hip-fire accuracy, making it slightly less accurate from the hip than a machine pistol. The M93 Raffica's reload animation is 1.8 seconds long, or 1.9 seconds long on an empty magazine. In either case, the user can Reload Cancel after 1.2 seconds.

The M93 Raffica has a magazine capacity of twenty rounds, and a starting ammo loadout of sixty rounds. As the twenty round magazine is not divisible by three, the M93 Raffica's last burst in a magazine will only be two bullets instead of the usual three.

The M93 Raffica has the standard assortment of attachments for a machine pistol. Many of the attachments on the M93 Raffica exhibit odd behaviour. Both of the sight attachments are misaligned on the M93 Raffica, in addition to the M93 Raffica's own iron sights. The M93 Raffica's handgun coding also means that Akimbo on the M93 Raffica presents only a slight decrease in hip-fire accuracy compared to the PP2000 and TMP. All remaining attachments work as expected on the M93 Raffica.

Trivia[]

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2[]

  • Raffica is Italian for "burst".
  • In the campaign, the M93 Raffica has a different pickup icon. Instead of the normal pickup icon from Multiplayer, it is the M9 pickup icon.
  • The campaign version of the M93 Raffica lacks the stock the weapon normally has.
  • When using Akimbo in third person, the stock of the weapon goes through the player's arms.
  • On the stock there is the word EOTech along with the EOTech logo.
  • The M93 Raffica's Create-A-Class image and pickup icon both feature an attachment rail. A rail only appears in game if there is an optic attachment on the gun.
  • All of the sights that can be used with the M93 Raffica, even the regular iron sights, are misaligned.
  • The M93 Raffica emblem shows only the word Raffica.
  • The Akimbo M9s and the M93 Raffica share the same ammunition.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War[]

  • The kill icon for Dual Wielding the Diamatti in Multiplayer is erroneously displayed with the kill icon for the M1911.
  • When Dual Wielding the Diamatti, the Diamatti held in the left hand will not have its slide locked back when the weapons are out of ammo, yet the right weapon slide will lock back in place.
