Manticore is a bio-weapon in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Designed by Dr. Pierre Danois, it was devised to target specific genotypes, and would kill anyone not in the Atlas database. Thus, in any battle, if it were to be used, all of the enemy would die, and only Atlas PMCs would live through the aftermath. In the level "Crash", the Sentinel Task Force retrieve a sample of it, and in "Bio Lab", they try to destroy the main source of its creation.
In the Intel audio log for the campaign level "Bio Lab" Jonathan Irons briefly describes a second effect of Manticore involving the regeneration of cells, although the actual legitimacy of this statement is unconfirmed.
In Throttle, Sentinel Task Force Lieutenant Knox was infected with Manticore and was killed within thirty seconds. Mitchell, Gideon, and Ilona are immune, however, due to being ex-members of Atlas. The bodies of Manticore's victims are gathered and retrieved by Atlas and seen sealed in air-tight, bio-hazard bags as seen in the following mission Captured.
During the mission Captured, the player goes through a prison camp. After breaking free, the player walks through a room of doctors working on humans killed by Manticore, with a majority of them having pale or green faces, with blood from the mouth, just as Knox did. Another room contains a large amount of body bags hanging from the ceiling.
On the map Riot while playing Exo Survival, Manticore is used at round 11, and turns the game into a Zombie Survival Mode. Nearing the end of the round, the player must run to a Warbird to escape as the horde grows. During the cutscene, the player is rescued by Gideon in a Warbird and flies off to see large horde gathering outside the map. Then, all of a sudden, a zombie rips Gideon off the Warbird.
When a player gets a killstreak of 30 using a gun, they will receive a reward known as the DNA Bomb, which is actually a Manticore bomb. Scorestreak kills do not count towards acquiring the DNA Bomb.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Manticore is a real name for a mythical beast typically depicted as having the body of a lion, the face of a man, and the tail of a scorpion.
- The exterior symptoms of Manticore revealed from Knox's body bear some resemblance to the symptoms of Nova 6.
