Private McCord is a U.S. Army Ranger, and one of the more significant supporting Rangers in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Ranger campaign.

Biography[]

McCord is first seen in the level "S.S.D.D.", sitting near Golden and Slayback, watching Macey and Keating play basketball. He is looking at something on his phone.

He is seen later in the level "Second Sun", defending the helicopter crash site and moving through the city with Sgt. Foley, Cpl. Dunn, and Pvt. Ramirez. He dodges the falling helicopters and makes up the fourth member of the player's squad during the Battle of Washington D.C. He is then seen covering the door of the Presidential Bunker, but is not seen during the transition where the squad make their way through the White House.

McCord is named after Jason McCord, an Infinity Ward's Designer.
In Second Sun, his character model is randomly generated.
He can also appear as a Randomly Generated Soldier in other missions (for example Team Player).
McCord does not appear in the Presidential Bunker with the rest of the squad in "Whiskey Hotel", and is instead replaced by Sandler, who had also been scripted to die in the office sequence of "Second Sun". This is considered a developer oversight.
