For other uses of the term, see Medic.

The Medic is a class in Extinction Mode for Call of Duty: Ghosts.

The Medic's main role is to protect his/her team through enhancements to revive speeds. The Medic has superior revival speed by default.

The Medic's upgrades are based around improving personal survivability as well as the survivability of teammates. The Medic gains increased mobility to more adeptly dodge and escape incoming enemies and their attacks. The Medic's passive ability of increased health regeneration makes survivability significantly easier for teammates, especially if Armor is being supplied adequately. Not only is the Medic less likely to go down, but teammates are now much harder to take down as well. The final upgrade makes the Medic's improved passive healing rate have an infinite range, so all teammates just have enhanced health regeneration regardless of where the Medic is on the map.

The Medic's third upgrade renders the Medic immune to the lingering effects of Scorpion gas clouds. However, the gas itself can still damage a Medic on a direct hit, although this damage is usually minimal and healed off very quickly. This applies to Seeder gas clouds as well, but not gas clouds from the Breeder.

The Medic Upgrade will spawn an area of effect circle. Anyone within this circle has their health regenerate at an incredible rate, but more importantly, any player that is downed who is within the Medic Upgrade's area of effect circle will be instantly revived, without any further action required on the part of the Medic to do so. The fact that it revives allies instantly makes the Medic Upgrade constantly used simply as a better alternative to reviving someone traditionally. Experienced Medics will rarely revive someone the traditional way unless a player or two are constantly being downed and just opt to use the Medic Upgrade instead. If timed properly in a moment of peril, Medics can revive themselves with their own Medic Upgrade, but this will only happen with very specific timing. Most of the time, the Medic will either activate the ability early enough so that a self-revive won't happen, or won't activate the ability in time.

As a whole, the Medic is a class that is very much team-oriented. Most of the medic's upgrades only apply when playing with multiple people, so Medic is a less attractive class option in solo play as a result. However, Medic provides a slew of enhancements that highly increase survivability, and the increased mobility can be a major asset on the last parts of Point of Contact and Awakening to get better escape times. The mere presence of a fully upgraded Medic will highly reduce the likelihood of players getting downed, and those who are downed can be revived in very short order thanks to the upgraded revival capcity and mobility of the Medic. The Medic's survival increase is especially felt among teammates who are using Relics like Fragile or Take More Damage, as those teammates are at an increased risk of going down, and the Take More Damage relic is an effect that will apply to the whole team.

Upgrades[]

  • Revive allies more quickly.
    • +1 (Cost: 1): Move faster + increased protection while reviving others.
    • +2 (Cost: 1): Longer sprint + teammates near you regenerate health faster. (Heal 40% faster & heal while being damaged.)
    • +3 (Cost: 2): Ignore ongoing damage from gas clouds.
    • +4 (Cost: 3): Very fast movement + unlimited distance team health regeneration.
  • Medic Upgrade: Creates a circle around the Medic of healing energy, and increases health regeneration immensely inside the circle. Additionally, any downed players will be revived instantly if inside the circle. Upgrading causes it to last longer. This will not affect dead players.

Trivia[]

  • Downed players may call out for a medic if there is one in the game.
  • When using the armory upgrade, the player will say "Deploying med gas" or some variation of this.
