The Nebelwerfer was a German multiple-rocket launcher developed and fielded during World War 2. It had six barrels that could fire explosive or chemical rockets, and was truck-transportable. It appears in Call of Duty 2: Big Red One and Call of Duty 3

In game

The Nebelwerfer is seen mostly in Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. It is seen in Kasserine, being fired at Americans by the Germans using it.

They are later seen in Eliendorf Ridge, in which they are firing down on Roland Roger and other GIs around him. The whole level is made as an attempt getting rid of the "screaming mimis". Nebelwerfers are unusable by player.

On the PC version of Call of Duty: World at War, The Nebelwerfer can be used in the Nazi Zombies mod map "Dead Sand".

The Nebelwerfer is also seen many times throughout Call of Duty 3.

Trivia

  • The name Nebelwerfer ("for thrower") was given to this weapon by the Germans to confuse the Allies. The Nazis wanted to conceal its true purpose as a chemical weapon by making it appear to be for the creation of smoke screens or for basic rocket attacks.
