Gameplay in Nightmares mode
Nightmares[1] is a campaign mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops III unlocked after completion of the main story mode.
The mode serves as an alternate version to the main story, introducing zombies as the main antoganist in the campaign. It is narrated by the female player; who, in this storyline, is stuck in "a void" between life and death; and Dr. Salim, who is in contact with the player via interfacing within the DNI cognition. Nightmares follows the player as she recounts the events leading to the outbreak of the undead, taking the player through campaign levels from the main story that have been reorganized and fitted with zombies. While borrowing the main content from the story, some features from the zombies mode are also available in this mode; including random power drops and the mystery box (which is labled as the "Magic Box" in-game).
Nightmares is not available on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.
