For the nuke in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, see Tactical Nuke.

Nuke (Nazi Zombies) is a power-up in Nazi Zombies. It kills every zombie currently in the map when a player gets it. The icon is a nuclear bomb.

The Nuke

When picked up, the screen will flash white and blind the player for about one second. In every map except "Nacht Der Untoten", the demonic announcer will say "Kaboom", as the zombies are killed by the Nuke. Also, the game will award each player 400 more points during the middle of the nuke's explosion in Der Riese. Players value this power-up since it gives them time to do things before more zombies come. Try to get it as soon as possible. There is an achievement called Weapons of Minor Destruction that is given to a player or players in the same Nazi Zombies game when they use the Nuke only to kill the last Zombie of the round.

Tips

  • Reload your weapon and board up any windows while you can as the Nuke does its work.
  • Don't take this for granted. It may save your life or even your teammate's life.
  • If the final zombie of the level drops a nuke, wait until the next round starts to use it, otherwise no new zombies will be killed. (Players will still receive the 400 point bonus.)
  • Use the general safety of the Nuke to move around the map without worry of being overwhelmed.
  • The nuke does not instantly kill all of the zombies. The effect seems to radiate outward. Zombies closer to the power up will die first.
  • Zombies can drop power ups when they die from a nuke. Listen for the sound of a dropping power up in case another one appears.
  • It is possible for a player to kill the zombies with a nuke, and have a different zombie drop another nuke. Wait a few seconds before using it so more zombies can spawn.
  • The 400 point bonus given by the nuke is not affected by the Double points power-up.
  • If one player gets a nuke, everyone will be awarded 400 points. This is not the case in Nacht der Untoten.
  • In the iPod Touch/iPhone version, the power-up is the "Atomic Bomb"
  • When playing solo, at the earlier levels a single Nuke ends the round. This can be used as a boost up to get to higher levels.
  • The demonic over tone that that says "KABOOM!" sounds significantly more American than the other Power-Ups.
