"Nyx is an unknown quantity. An error. The Dark Covenant's elite assassin that does not exist. If you see her coming, it's already too late."
— In-game biography

Nyx is a character featured in Call of Duty: Mobile and was added in the game on December 3, 2021, during Season 10: Shadows Return as part of the Shadow Stung Draw. Later, in Season 6: To The Skies, Nyx appears in the Comics.

Biography[]

Nyx appears accompanying Kryptis and a man named Roger Vachon (actually Cedric Montpierre) to meet with Makarov, who is accompanied by Wraith and Sophia Couteau. She later waits outside the meeting room that Makarov and Vachon are in. She then receives radio chatter that "Zurich has been compromised". This prompts Sophia and Wraith to attack Kryptis, leading Nyx to leap into action and after a brief skirmish, Nyx defeats Sophia, while Kryptis recovers and helps her to defeat Wraith as well. However, Nyx is not impressed by Kryptis' gloating, and demands he get to "Vachon".

Sometime later, Nyx, now a high-level operative for Atlas Corporation, is seen in The Club, acting as their "house band". As the spotlight moves to her, she announces she would like to dedicate her first number to the fearless fighters of the UAC. This alarms Ether, Alias, Deadman and Cipher, who all quickly leave.

Some time later, Nyx is in Tokyo, ambushing Goro and his henchmen who have a man named Jun Takeshi held hostage. She subdues them before giving Takeshi a pistol to execute Goro with, though not before Goro warns her of Rin Yoshida. Takeshi reminds Nyx that no one crosses Rin Yoshida and does not suffer for it, which Nyx agrees on. She also adds that Rin's anger will only grow the longer Takeshi remains alive and that she will not stop coming for him. Takeshi wonders if Nyx saved his life only for him to lose it later, calling her strange for an assassin. Nyx assures him that she's more than just that, as she's there to give him exactly what he wants.

Nyx later participates in the infiltration of Kurohana Corporation HQ, together with Satsumebachi, Hidora Kai and a troop of soldiers. Accompanied by the soldiers, she launches an attack on the atrium, killing Rin Yoshida's security detail. However, despite her efforts, their attempt to seize Kurohana is thwarted by Sparrowhawk.

Some time later, Nyx is shown to be in attendance at the summit on Memnos Island together with the Director. Following the Iron Will incident, Nyx is not seen again until she resurfaces in Nice, France, spying on Sophia Couteau and her father through binoculars. Apparently under the employ of the Tontine, she informs them that their ground agents are helping to hold up the local police, and that the Couteaus should be free to lead her to the Monastery where the fabled Gideon armor is kept. Her employer instructs her to do what she can to keep Interpol agents off the Couteaus, which she acknowledges.

Trivia[]

  • Nyx, in Greek mythology, is the goddess and personification of the night. In Hesiod's Theogony, she is the offspring of Chaos, and the mother of Aether and Hemera (Day) by Erebus (Darkness). By herself, she produces a brood of children which are personifications of primarily negative forces. This trait is closely reflected in her behavior and actions, and she is often aligned with antagonistic factions and individuals, such as The Dark Covenant, Atlas Corporation, Kryptis and Spectre.
