Off the Grid is a Stealth perk introduced in Call of Duty: Ghosts. It grants the player immunity to enemy SAT COMs and radar pings. It is unlocked for free if the player chooses to start with the covert ops setup.

As the SAT COM is normally an ineffective and inefficient pointstreak in most game modes, Off the Grid's popularity is rather low, especially among more experienced players, as SAT COMs are rarely used, and coordination is required in order to make the SAT COMs useful. However, Off the Grid's usefulness greatly increases in Free-for-All or Hardcore as the SAT COM's usefulness is greatly increased in these game modes. Only one SAT COM is required to give a user a radar sweep in Free-for-All, and in Hardcore, SAT COMs are used much more often as they are needed in order to activate the mini-map on the HUD and increase situational awareness.

Beyond the SAT COM, Off the Grid renders the user immune to Ping, the Night Owl's radar, the radar on a Juggernaut Recon, and the Riot Shield's Radar, with all methods of detection failing to paint the user on radar. However, all methods of detection will still provide a soft beep should the Off the Grid user be in the range of the detection radius, only removing the user's dot from radar. As such, Off the Grid can fool an inattentive enemy user at best should they not know to pay attention to the audible radar beeps, and at worst, an attentive user making use of these radar beeps will know the Off the Grid user is nearby, but won't know exactly where the user is beyond an estimation. Off the Grid can be useful as a form of counter-play against enemies making use of these detection methods. Off the Grid can be especially useful against a Juggernaut Recon; since the Juggernaut Recon's position is always indicated on radar, the Off the Grid user can easily set up an ambush that genuinely catches the Juggernaut Recon off guard.
