Overclocks are a Create-A-Class feature in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Overclocks are a form of progression for Equipment, Field Upgrades, and Scorestreaks that are unlocked through use of the item in question, not unlike weapon progression.
Overview[]
All Equipment, Field Upgrades, and Scorestreaks in Black Ops 7 have two unlockable overclocks that modify their behavior to either outright improve them or to better fit a players play style. Overclocks are unlocked through effective use of whatever the item in question may be.
Some Overclocks add additional functionality to an item, such is the case with a Cluster Grenade. Typically, a Cluster Grenade scatters a group of smaller explosives when the main projectile detonates, overclocking it has the following effects:
- Controllable Fuse: Adds the ability to cook the fuse over time.
- Tighter Packing: Adds one additional mini grenade to the projectile.
In other cases, Overclocks are simply straight benefits to existing functionality, such as with Active Camo:
- Improved Electronics: Increased duration and faster charge time.
- Recloak: Gunfire reveals you temporarily instead of ending the ability.
Only a single Overclock may be equipped to an item at a time.
