Overwatch is a multiplayer map for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
The map is the only piece of content in Content Pack 2, and was released on February 21 for Call of Duty ELITE subscribers on Xbox 360, and was released on March 29 for PlayStation 3 ELITE premium subscribers. Overwatch was released to non-Elite subscribers on Xbox Live as part of the "Content Collection #1" map pack for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on March 20, 2012. It was later released for the PS3 users without ELITE on April 20 as part of the collection map pack. Overwatch and the other DLC maps have been released and are available through the Steam service.
Survival Mode
In Survival Mode, the player(s) start with a Model 1887, a Five Seven, a Self Revive, and Extreme Conditioning, but no Grenades or Flashbangs. The hostiles include Bomb Squads, Suicide Bombers, Little Birds, and Juggernauts.

Trivia
- In the official Overwatch trailer, it is stated that Overwatch takes place 80 stories above the ground. However in the description of the trailer, it is stated that the map takes place 70 stories above the ground.
- There are multiple dead Russian soldiers hanged around the map. The same ones can be seen in Hardhat.
- The destroyed building under construction seen in "Black Tuesday" and Hardhat is seen, but the building Overwatch takes place on is not visible on the other two maps.
- There are fighter jets flying over the map. Additionally, troops can be seen deploying from these jets and parachuting into the city.
- The Statue of Liberty can be seen in the distance. As expected, it is extremely undetailed. Apart from modding, the easiest way to see it is with a Variable Zoom Scope on a Sniper Rifle.
- Overwatch was not available in Survival Mode until a Title update was released.
- If the player uses Theater Mode, Spectator Mode or Recon Drone and goes to a crane that is above the map, the player can see that a motionless chicken is controlling the crane.
- Similar to Hardhat, there are several signs scattered around the map warning people to wear helmets.
- The description of this map in Survival Mode is the same as in Multiplayer.
- In Theater Mode the Free camera can be moved down the central tunnel and out into the city and can travel around NYC for a great look at the city.
- Central Park, the location for the map Liberation can be seen on the ground below.
