Owen Guthrie, also known as Patient 13, is a character featured in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies map, Terminus. He serves as the final boss of the map's Main Quest.
Background[]
Owen Guthrie worked as a scientist for Project Janus, stationed at Terminus Island. As part of his work, Guthrie was responsible for accepting new test subjects on behalf of his superior, Revati Modi. At first, he treated the job like any other, but eventually he began to feel sympathy for the subjects, as the guilt kept him awake at night. At one point, the facility took in a new subject, Nathan Aguinaldo, whom Guthrie took a liking to. Despite his best efforts to protect Nathan, Guthrie could not prevent him from being moved to the Amalgam Program. Overwhelmed with guilt, Guthrie finally decided to gather evidence of the facility's inhumane experiments, hoping to put Modi behind bars for good.
However, Guthrie's efforts were undermined by Modi, who had discovered his attempt. As a result, Guthrie was made a new test subject, dubbed "Patient 13", though the rest of the Terminus staff was unaware of this fact, as they all thought Guthrie had simply been transferred. Guthrie, as Patient 13, would end up being Modi's longest surviving test subject, eventually growing to a gargantuan monster that roamed the surrounding waters of the island.
Death[]
On February 18th, 1991, Terminus Island became a battleground following a dimensional breach that killed most of its staffs and test subjects. Modi, however, managed to escape on her submarine. The only survivors that remained were the Requiem team: Grigori Weaver, Elizabeth Grey, Mackenzie Carver, and Oskar Strauss, as well as Nathan, who was kept locked up in the Bio Labs. Nathan's sister, Maya, arrived on the island the same day, alongside William Peck, to rescue the Requiem team. When the team worked with the Synaptic Algorithm Module (S.A.M.) to take control of Modi's submarine and force her to return to the island, Patient 13 detected her presence, and swallowed her entire submarine, which also had Peck's Inversion warheads strapped to it. As a result, the warheads mutated Patient 13 further, and the Requiem team was forced to kill it.
