In Black Ops Cold War, Paintball was added during the Season Four update where it is known as Paintball Moshpit, taking place exclusively on the map, Rush in the modes Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed and Hardpoint. In this moshpit, players' bullets are visually turned into paintballs, however, with no changes to weapon performance.

In Modern Warfare III, it was added on August 28th, 2024 as part of the Season Five Reloaded update. Taking place on Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint and Capture the Flag, Paintball takes aspects of its real life counterpart, in which Operators are killed after one hit.
