"I don't know what you're planning on doing, Cornelius, but I feel I'm better off not knowing. This trip brought up a lot of memories. If they were around, I'm sure Tank, Banana, and Smokey would be proud to know we completed our mission. Shame it was twenty years too late, but a least we brought him home. No more favors, Cornelius. See you in the next life. Oo-rah."
— Paxton "Gunner" Ridge

Officer Paxton "Gunner" Ridge is a character featured in the Aether story of Treyarch's Zombies mode. He's one of the four Marines that are playable in the map Verrückt in Call of Duty: World at War.

He was part of the mission to rescue Peter McCain. The mission ultimately failed as the team was too late when they arrived at the asylum. While "Smokey" and John "Banana" were killed and "Tank" Dempsey was captured and became one of the test subjects of Edward Richtofen; Paxton survived and managed to get back in the United States.

In the map Alpha Omega from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, it is revealed that Paxton became an officer at the C.I.A. and delivered the corpse of Peter McCain to his former handler, Cornelius Pernell.
