Primary Grenades x2 is a Tier 1 perk in Call of Duty: World at War that gives the player two frag grenades, sticky grenades, or Molotov Cocktails. This is useful if the player relies on grenades for kills. It is unlocked at level 44. (Not to be confused with Frag x3 from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which gives you three frags, instead of two.)

In Game[]

This perk is useful in taking down a group of enemies as two grenades ensure that most, if not all enemies, are eliminated. Although, whoever has the perk tends to not cook the grenades, making it easier to dodge the loose grenade. This perk is looked down upon due to the fact that if anyone is damaged by the first grenade, they will most likely be finished off by the second, creating irritation (This is also called Grenade Mortaring or Grenade Spamming). It is also advisable to not use this perk in Hardcore modes due to random grenade throwing usually results in a team-kill. A good tactic is to throw a Smoke grenade, or a Tabun Gas Grenade into an enemy building then launch the two grenades. The player will most likely get a kill, especially if the grenades are cooked before they are thrown.

Trivia[]

  • A likely reason for the reduction is because there are different types of grenades other than frag in World at War, and the number of grenade-related deaths in Call of Duty 4 was staggeringly high.
  • Its spiritual successor seems to be Warlord Pro in Call of Duty: Black Ops.
  • The Black Ops II version is the Danger Close wildcard.
