Rebirth Island, also known as Vozrozhdeniya Island, is a island located in the Aral Sea was an island controlled by the Soviets. The base was raided and shut down by the CIA in 1968, and in 1984, was rebuilt with one purpose: the creation and testing of the deadly Nova 6 gas. It consists of 32 overall locations.

White Shed and Jetty[]

A small white shed worn from decades of use and decay from natural elements sits on the northwest shoreline of the Bioweapons Lab, next to stone steps leading down to a small jetty and another flight cut into the building’s foundation to reach the first floor.

Bioweapons Labs[]

The Bioweapons Labs is a three-story white brick and blue steel siding building marked with “КД-20” on its side. Used to test the deadly Nova gas family and other potential candidates for biological warfare, the labs have plenty of evidence lying around, including some biohazardous barrels, years after the CIA raid. It is one of the tallest of the northern buildings and has few heavily trafficked pathways leading toward it due to its placement on the map.

Decontamination Zone Building[]

This long, low-lying concrete building with a yellow stripe running horizontally across its side sits adjacent to the main road circling the island, its roof barely reaching the hilltop to the north. While Rebirth Island was active, its workers would use these facilities following any work that was done with Nova 6 and the chemicals used to make it.

Chemical Engineering Factory[]

Set under street level, the Chemical Engineering Factory is easily identified by the tall smokestack rising from its roof, as well as the toxic gas spewing out from two waste pipes jutting out over the ocean. One of the major targets for the FBI raid two decades ago, the building manufactured deadly bioweapons such as Nova 6 to be used if the Cold War went hot. There are less points of entry and accessible rooms here compared to the adjoining office.

Chemical Engineering Office[]

A prominent feature on the north end, the office is a major draw for players looking to stock up on supplies and engage in combat across a multi-level building. Entry into the building is largely divided between the upper interior floors which are accessible from the street, or through the lower open levels nearer the shoreline.

Hilltop and Watertower[]

Just north of the Recreation Yard overlooking the Bioweapons Lab, Decontamination Zone, and Chemical Engineering facilities, the Hilltop features a helipad that extends out toward a small shack at the end. Although this is a dangerous location due to its exposure to numerous sightlines from surrounding buildings, it is a great place to rotate over to the Decontamination Building, as a running jump from the bluffs will allow you to land on its roof. Affixed with a large metal sign, the Water Tower serves as Rebirth Island’s main landmark and a phenomenal makeshift watchpoint. Survive the climb up the exposed ladder to be rewarded with two levels of commanding 360-degree vantage points, with the middle walkway offering a less obvious sniping position compared to the upper walkway.

Power Room and Lookout[]

A lone building that powers the Bioweapons lab sits on an elevated concrete structure above two of the island’s waste pipes. This single room block contains a few pieces of power equipment, including a large white generator at center that nearly divides the room in two. Along with a small walkway that overlooks the dangerous waters below, the other area of note is a small concrete dead-end that curves downwards with a ladder at the bottom to street level.

Recreation Yard[]

Flat and wide open, the Recreation Yard is where mid-range and long-range loadouts have their chance to play. Three entrances – one on the Hillside, one next to the Morgue, and another above the green shed near the Decontamination Zone – lead to the main cracked concrete yard. The other points of entry are from the wrap-around Terrace or the Prison Block, which open onto an elevated space with steps leading down to the yard below.

Terrace and Morgue[]

The terrace is a wide stone pathway outside the Prison Block, with a long ramp leading to a second-floor overhang of the facility and an exterior ascender allowing for roof access on the northeast corner. Like the nearby hilltop and recreation yard, this is an area to move through, typically on the way inside or out of the prison. Several staircases and a ramp lead from the street to the terrace. At the bottom of the water tower, the morgue is a small one room building accessible only from the front. Outside of the occasional item spawn, this area is a prime ambush spot against those coming down from the Hillside or through the Recreation Yard, of which there is a long staircase leading up to it outside the Morgue due west.

Chemical Engineering Power Station[]

A primary point of interest between Chemical Engineering Office and the Harbor, the Power Station once fueled the creation of deadly chemicals through several turbines. A steep bluff up to the Prison block and its shoreline foundation make it possible to miss from the street side, but is a fairly obvious locale when walking along the concrete pathway over the deadly waters.
