- For a newer variant, see Remington 870 MCS.
The Remington 870 is a pump-action shotgun featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops (Nintendo DS), Find Makarov, and Call of Duty Online.
Call of Duty: Black Ops (Nintendo DS)[]
The Remington 870 appears in Call of Duty: Black Ops (Nintendo DS). It has an eight round magazine and uses the same skin as the Ithaca 37. It is the shotgun of choice for allies. The weapon's firing mode is pump-action, but it can fire as fast as a semi-automatic shotgun due to a short pumping action. The pumping animation may not even be played if fired fast enough. However, if one were to fire slowly, the player will see that the gun is pumped before the next shot is fired. In multiplayer it is one of the pre-unlocked weapons of the allied faction and 150 kills with it will unlock the M72 LAW. In Zombie mode it is available from purchase in the second room for 1200 points, and needs 600 points to refill its ammo.
There is a strange glitch on the DS, when the player reloads the Remington 870 and walks past an ammo box, their shotgun will be stuck in the reload animation. The player can even fire it, but when they shoot, the normal animation will show again. On the Nintendo DS, the gun is identical to the Ithaca Model 37 shotgun in every aspect, as it uses the same textures, animations, sounds, and has the same damage, recoil and range, the only difference being the name.
Find Makarov[]
A Remington 870 can be seen in Find Makarov where it is seen in the hands of an SAS soldier during Soap's briefing with Price.
Call of Duty Online[]
The Remington 870 is available in Call of Duty Online. It has a very similar appearance to the Remington 870 MCS from Call of Duty: Black Ops II, with a few differences such as a longer barrel.
Trivia[]
Call of Duty: Mobile[]
- In Call of Duty: Mobile, a Remington 870's icon is used for the shotgun selection in 1v1 Duel matches. The weapon is not available for use otherwise.
