Customizable Reticles are a weapon customization feature that has been included in every Call of Duty game since its introduction in Call of Duty Black Ops. Reticles are the illuminated or built-in crosshair shape of an attached optical sight that highlights where bullets will land when fired. Reticles are included by default with every optic even prior to their customization, but when able, can be customized according to shape and color. However, most reticles available for customization are only available as a fixed shape and color pattern. Reticles can be unlocked through completing optic challenges, opening supply drops and purchasing them as microtransactions. Customizable reticles were initially available exclusively to multiplayers of their respective games, but have since been included in extra modes such as Zombies.

In addition to Reticle customization is the inclusion of customization of the Lens of an optic. This feature is only available in Call of Duty: Black Ops.
